Intro-After the end of WWII Japan was occupied by Allied forces led by the U.S-Japan’s dependence on Allied powers lessened greatly as damages from the war got smaller and Japan’s economy started to get back to where it once was-Trade between U.S and Japan grew from that point up to where it is today.

The actual crisis

-Japan has the fastest declining population in the world. -Japan’s current population is 127.3 million-Japan’s population shrank by its largest amount on record in 2014. Roughly 1.001 million people were born and 1.269 million people died last year, leaving the country with 268,000 fewer people-There’s currently more adult diapers being sold than baby diapers

Why is this?!?!?!?!?!

- Japan has a very work orientated mindset, more so than when compared to Americans. -When women were introduced to this working mindset in the 90’s they were more preoccupied with working to pop out babies and to start a family.

Cont.

-Many young people in Japan also don’t spend time communicating with around 50% women in Japan age 18-34 that are single, and 60% of men the same age. - This is because majority of men in Japan would rather watch anime or play video games than to go out and look for girls. They’re more obsessed with virtual reality than real girls.

What that does to us

-About 5.7% of America’s overall imports are from Japan -Everything from our cars to our electronics to our video games are all imported from Japan

Page 9: Japan’s Rising Crisis.pptx

Our solution

-Change immigration laws in Japan to make it easier for people to immigrate and to live in Japan. Doing so could bring more people into the country and could also influence

Japan’s society by bringing a lot of other cultures into it.
