- Economical crisis heavily decreasing amount of building and similar activities

- Disunity of archaeological community

Increasing number of archaeologists of foreign origin (from 9 to 28)

Page 14: Jan Frolík Institute of Archaeology AS CR, Prague, v.v.i

Main conclusions - antagonistic results - strong influence of economical crisis x increasing number of archaeologicalinstitutions and archaeologists (from 425 to 530) and persons „working in archaeology“, too (from 666 to 952)

- completing of university chairs teaching fully or partly archaeology, increasing number of private companies and subcontracting companies

- too many archaeological workplaces are small (less than three archaeologists – 72%), but better situation than 2008 (75%)

- increasing number of female archaeologists but higher average age, very strong group in age 30-39, increasing (but generally small) number of archaeologists of foreign origin

- the new law for protection of monuments will decide about next development of archaeology – the most important decision for archaeology but prepared mainly out of archaeological community
