James Augustine Aloysius Joyce
(2 February 1882 –13 January 1941) was an Irish novelist and poet, considered to be one of the most influential writers in the modernist avant-garde of the early 20th century.
James Joyce’s best known work is “Ulysses”, a landmark work in the world literature.
There’re more than 260.000 words in the novel.
James Joyce wrote “Ulysses” in the period of 1914-1921.
He spent at least 20.000 hours writing it.
“Ulysses” focuses on one day of the
life of Leopold Bloom – June 16th ,
1904. This day is now celebrated by
J.Joyce’s fans all over the world as
“Bloomsday”.
