Presentation Project: Journey to Greece and Bulgaria

Objectives This module is to help students to acquire knowledge, understanding and

appreciation of the history, education system, religion, people, and culture of

Greece and Bulgaria to provide opportunities to develop critical thing skills

by exploring and comparing the cultures of the two countries and that of the U.S.

Materials Following materials will be used to complete the module.

Computer with internet access (preferably equipped with Microsoft

Internet Explore, version 6.0 or higher)

LCD Projector

Word Processing software (at instructors discretion)

Power Point Artifacts, pictures, posters, pamphlets, books, CDs, clothing, maps,

videos, kits, etc.

Activities to carry out this plan

Introduction and discussion of prior knowledge 5 Minutes

Interactive Power Point Presentation 25 Minutes

Questions and answers 10 Minutes

Enrichment activity (dancing, drawing, cooking, or writing 10 Minutes

accordingly)

Instructional Strategies

This module is designed to introduce firsthand knowledge and experience of

Greece and Bulgaria to students of all levels, faculty, and community with

flexibility to adapt to each audience. It will enhance students knowledge

and appreciation of the cultures of the two countries beyond the usual

classroom limitations. For faculty, it will allow instructors to incorporate

cultural awareness into their curriculum and to appreciate how culture can

influence people and educational methodology. For community members, it

will broaden awareness and replace any cultural biases about Greece and

Bulgaria with newly acquired knowledge and appreciation.
