Italy - Univ. of Verona Program Overview The University of Verona (UV) is a young, dynamic university that invests in academic research and encourages teaching methods that promote personal and intellectual growth. In addion, UV devotes special aenon to community engagement and internaonal experiences, welcoming over 1,400 internaonal students. Academics Students have the opportunity to take courses at the graduate level in programs that include: business administraon, computer science, culture and civilizaon, economics, foreign languages, and human sciences. This program is available as: • Exchange – This means you pay your

regular tuition and fees to UNCW, and your room and board costs abroad.

• Study Abroad – This means you pay your tuition, fees, room and board abroad.

With each option, there will be additional costs for international airfare, passport, health insurance, and local transportation. Please meet with an advisor at the Office of International Programs to discuss which option is best for you.

Program CostFederal and state financial aid may be applied toward this program. Even if you are normally ineligible for financial aid, you should submit a financial aid application (FAFSA). You may find that you are eligible for additional funding.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Located in Northern Italy, Verona is famously known as the location of Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet and nicknamed “the heart of the world.” Explore Verona’s range of cultural and recreational activities by simply walking from place to place by foot. In Verona, you will be surrounded by more than 2000 years of history and a magical atmosphere thanks to the city’s stunning monuments such as the ancient Roman amphitheater, enchanting Piazza Erbe, and the medieval Castelvecchio.

Surrounding Area

There is on-campus housing for students, as well as liaisons to help students find housing close to the university. All students have a meal-plan option and access to the university dining halls.

Housing

In Verona, students will enjoy the history and culture of Italy. The University also offers a variety of activities for students to participate in, including the University magazine, choir, web radio and intramural sports. Students can also enroll in Italian language and culture courses in town during their semester or year abroad. The university has a staff of more than 1,500 dedicated to the growth and development of their students.
