Food Bank
Collection
Next week Trinity will be once
again supporting our local food
bank. Harvest time is a great time
to share with others and students
are asked to bring in one item (or
more if possible) to send to those in
need in our community. The food
bank is particularly asking for boxes
of breakfast cereal, tinned
vegetables, jars of sauce and tinned
meat such as meatballs, curry,
spaghetti Bolognese etc. Other
tinned or long dated products are
appreciated although they already
have a lot of soup and
pasta. Please could these
donations be brought into
school on Wednesday 4th
October (or Thursday 5th October
in the morning), thank you.

Philosophy Club
A new Philosophy Club has started
this term! The club is currently
looking at key ethical issues that
relate to the ideas of religion,
community and identity through
discussion and some games too! It’s
not too late to join and we would
like to encourage students in any
year group to come along on
Mondays 3.30-4.30 in S12.

Education for life in all its fullness
Royal Academy
of Arts
Workshop On Thursday Year 10 GCSE
Art students were very fortunate to
have a portrait workshop with a
tutor from the Royal Academy of
Arts. They participated in a range of
drawing activities- focusing on
observation, skill and expression.
They created a range of studies
using a variety of chalks and
charcoal, working at a range of
different scales. They were able to
work not only from secondary
observation but also from life, using
a model. This was a very beneficial
and worthwhile experience for all
students. We kindly thank Knole
Decorative and Fine Arts Society
for their contribution.
The Skinners’
School
University Fair Our Year 11 Gifted and Talented
students were fortunate to be
invited to the Skinners’ University
Fair on Thursday 21st September.
Over 30 Universities took part and
Trinity students were able to ask
questions regarding the degrees
available, entry requirements and
university life. 11 of our students
attended. George Northcroft said ‘It
gave me a great opportunity to
learn about universities, personal
statements and my future prospects.
I thoroughly enjoyed the evening’.
The photograph shows a number of
our students who attended the fair.

Chaplaincy
“For if we could control our tongues,
we would be perfect and could also
control ourselves in every other way….
the tongue is a small thing that makes
grand speeches. But a tiny spark can
set a great forest on fire.
And among all the parts of the body,
the tongue is a flame of fire. “
James 3:2. 5-6
This week Mr Williams spoke to us
in worship about kind speech and
the power of our words. We have
talked about the words of Jesus in
the Beatitudes and also the much-
quoted Mark Twain, when he said
that he could live for 2 months on a
compliment. All this has led to a lot
of reflection by the students on how
we speak to and treat others. Next
week we hope to try and help
others through donations to our
local food bank as mentioned earlier
in this newsletter.
Giving thanks for:
Opportunities to reflect and
pray together
Our new prefects, student
council members, house
stars and captains as well as
all other student leadership
roles
Praying for:
All those who use food
banks around the world and
in our community
Students who have not yet
taken on leadership roles
and that they may have the
chance and confidence to
do so
Many thanks and God bless,
Alice
