Weekly Publication for Middle School Parents Dear Parents: All students should have completed their course registrat ion for next school year. As part of the on-line registration process, your child shoul d have brought home a print out of their choices. If your child is entering grade 5, 6, 7 or 8 next year, we ask that you sign the print out to approve your child’s course selection. Your child must then ret urn the signed sheet to his/her Homebase t eacher as soon as possibl e. If a change is needed, please contact your child’s counselor, Ms. Katz or Mr. St. Laurent, in MS Guidance. Please note that there will be a combined MS-HS Parent Coffee on Tuesday, March 9 from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. in the Little Theat er. The topic to be discussed will be Web Awareness/C yber Security. We hope you are abl e to attend. Friday, March 12 marks the end of the 3 rd quarter and progress reports will be distributed the following week. We strongly encourage you to check PowerSchool and discuss your child’s assignments, progress and level of achievement wit h them. On the aft ernoon of Mar ch 16 time has been set aside for P arent Teacher Conferences. If you have major concerns about your child’s progress, please plan to attend. In connection to this students will be dismissed at 11:30 A.M. and there w ill be no afterschool MS activities. Please make the necessary transportation arrangements so that your child is picked up no later than 12:00 noon. Looking ahead…ISM has the honor of being the first school to host the 8th EARCOS (East Asia Regional Council of Overseas S chools) Teachers Conference from March 25th to 28th, 2010. Well-known presenters and hundreds of teachers will be gathering to share their knowledge and experiences, and it provides an invaluable venue for the exchange of ideas. In order to maximize the experience for our teacher s and visiting international school educators, students will be released from classes at 12:00 noon on Thursday, March 25, which will s ignal the start of s pring break.
