1.8 THE MEANING AND IMPORTANCE OF

THE BELIEF IN RISALAH

Key term Risalah- Muslims believe about the prophets of Allah

Summary- Muslims believe that Allah has chosen many prophets to bring the message of Islam to people.- This belief is known as risalah

THE PROPHETSMuslim believe that Allah chooses his messengers. These messengers are called prophets. Allah choose his messengers because they brought his message accurately, they thought people how to follow people and they lived their own lives according to the message. This is known as risalah.Most Muslims believe that Allah has sent 124, 000 messengers and the Quran mentions some of them by name. Muslims believe that all of these massagers are important, because they brought the guidance of Allah to different nations and various times, but their message was the same. It was the message of Islam. Here are some of the important messengers or prophets of Allah:1.The first prophet Adam also the ancestors of the whole race 2.another important prophet was Ibrahim you can read about him in surah 2 in the Quran. This is the same prophet that Jewish and Christian people call Abraham3.Musa (Moses) was the prophet who brought the message of Islam to the Hebrew and Jewish peopleIsa was the prophet known as Jesus in the bible
