It sure is. But is it more addictive than sugar? And could one addiction fuel the other?

Cocaine is a hell of a drug, as Rick James said once… But could cocaine really be more addictive than sugar? I think so…Now I am not a drug expert, nor a scientist. I am a guy who did a lot of Drugs (cocaine) in my party years and wants to share with you my experience on coke and sugar addiction Okay let’s start…

Typical weekend model. Get Hammered, go to the club and consume copious amounts of blow till the morning hours and then rinse and repeat. This was my life for a very long time lol… However, what I found interesting were certain people around me continued beyond the weekend with their drug abuse. I have seen Cocaine destroy my friends’ lives and many others. It’s one fucked up drug! Question is: Why are some so addictive than others?

Page 3: Is Cocaine More Addictive Than Sugar?

My answer is: probably Neurotransmitter imbalances and psychological issues. As time went on my coke usage disappeared completely. But funny how life is… I still had another addiction that was with me since high-School! Enter Sugar… This is an addiction that has many people hooked worldwide. It’s ironic that we think addiction is only for drugs, but never really think our daily food intake as a drug. Mind fuck! Remember how I said, I only did cocaine on weekends… Well I was eating sugar at every meal! I was HOOKED… There’s no denying it… I was the cookie monster

Now why is it that I was more addicted to sugar than cocaine? Same reward center? Eating more of it? Neurochemical imbalance? Yes to all of the above… Our findings clearly demonstrate that intense sweetness can surpass cocaine reward, even in drug-sensitized and -addicted individuals. We speculate that the addictive potential of intense sweetness results from an inborn hypersensitivity to sweet tastants. In most mammals, including rats and humans, sweet receptors evolved in ancestral environments poor in sugars and are thus not adapted to high concentrations of sweet tastants. The supranormal stimulation of these receptors by sugar-rich diets, such as those now widely available in modern societies, would generate a supranormal reward signal in the brain, with the potential to override self-control mechanisms and thus to lead to addiction. Looking back now on my life…I can honestly say that sugar for me was much MORE addictive than cocaine.. However…I always ask myself these questions What if I was eating a whole foods diet back then? Would I still do cocaine on the weekends? Would I still abuse my body with alcohol? My addictions and mindset transformed when I started eating a whole foods diet

Can you imagine, if we incorporated a whole foods diet in Drug rehab centers. How high do you think the success rate would be? Pretty damn high! But, as you and I know… Drugs and rehab are BIG business! From my personal experience, I will say that my diet and sugar addiction increased my use of cocaine. I hope you enjoyed this short blog post Thank you
