PLEASED TO MEET YOU
I am an emerging Sydney designer with a passion for interiors and a genuine interest in people.
My training at Enmore Design Centre and my background in curation have taught me the value of a strong conceptual approach.
I enjoy the psychology behind how we use spaces; how we like to work, live and play in spaces that form our present and our future.

BRIEF Through independent investigation, select a large-scale abandoned or underutilised building in Sydney. Develop a design brief and demonstrate leadership in addressing the social, ethical and environmental impacts of the design solution. The multi-use interior environment should incorporate a high degree of creativity, complexity and rigour.
OUTCOME The project promotes the revitalisation of the Lawson Towers to provide safe, motivating and engaging interior spaces that transform the experience of daily life for social housing tenants, resulting in renewed trust from the local Redfern and Waterloo community.
Based on the theoretical framework of Mutualism, the concept of ‘cohesion’ is explored throughout the design approach in order to unite tenants with the community.

SOCIAL HOUSING APARTMENTS Working within the original footprint of the building, the revised apartments offer a more functional use of space and allows the tenants the opportunity to trade and upgrade interior elements within their home at minimal or no cost. This incentive encourages a greater sense of ownership, choice and belonging not previously experienced by this underprivileged demographic. The apartments have also been re-designed and upgraded to provide 50% more universally accessible apartments to cater to a growing level of need in Redfern and Waterloo.

BRIEF Research an event or disaster featuring a large scale transportation vehicle. From this narrative, determine an appropriate site and develop your design for a large scale exhibition space. The space should evoke the memory, drama and emotion of the event through the manipulation of design elements. Your design will adhere to BCA standards and include circulation spaces, destinations and viewing areas.

GATHER IN THE MEMORIAL VILLAGE, SET IN AMONGST THE MOUNTAINS
STORY On 1 July 1999, 20 workers boarded a cable car in the French alps, travelling to the Pic de Bure space observatory.
At 7:30am and after only 500 metres, the cable car became unhooked from the cable and plummeted to the valley. There were no survivors.
OUTCOME Saint Etienne Memorial is a gentle and empathic journey that honours the connection between the humble Saint Etienne village and the glorious surrounding alps.
Set in to the rocky mountain face, the exhibition spaces explore the different stages of grief, progressing towards an understanding of the workers’ driving purpose and the allure of space exploration for this close-knit community.
