INTRODUCTION

• Energy conservation is a major aspect in our everyday life.

• Human activity is the major cause of energy wastage

• By recognising human activity we can reduce energy wastage.

• Using the principle of IoT we can meet our power utilization requirements.

• IoT brings a fangled type communication

OBJECTIVES• To save energy proper management of

electricity distribution.• To show the effective way for power utilization

and conservation.• To control and monitor any operating system.• To make power usage low and conservation

more effective.• To make smart and intelligent usage of energy

and its conservation in home appliances

Literature Survey N. Srikanthan and Tan karand invented an application

of bluetooth technology for HAS Wireless HAS for interconnecting home appliances Due to complexity of this system this system is not

preferred. A.Z.Alkar & U.Buhur have developed internet based

HAS for multifunctional devices. Wireless communication is limited in less than 100m.

Muhammed Izhar Ramli, Mohd Helmy Abd Wahab, Nabihah developed a prototyped electrical device control system using web

Cannot be used in mobile technology and less effective.

E Yavuz, B Hasan implemented telephone & PIC remote controlled device for HAS.

Complex architecture

M M Akbar, E Hoque presented a GSM based communication & control for HAS

Less functional. Jitendra Rajendra Rana & Sunil N Pawar

implemented a Zigbee based HAS. Does not allow remote monitoring & controlling

appliances. Bluetooth is not supported due to large BW of

Zigbee.7

Page 8: iot based home automation

• Deepali Javale, M Shingate used android ADK for HAS and security systems

• Does not support remote monitoring and controlling of home appliances.

• Home Automation using GSM Fails to deliver command SMS in time. Unsuccessful Inefficient in security

• Home automation using Zigbee• Short range network Security issues Application specification• Home automation using JAVA Poor security Uses web pages to access and control the

appliances• Home automation using Android. PC should be always on and connected to the

server.

Proposed Method• In this proposed work, the usage of sensors

can be reduced .with the help of camera. As a camera can detect and record events that are taking place currently.

• The proposed work is implemented in 3 phases namely,

Phase zero or training phase Phase one or comparison phase Phase two or controlling phase

Flow Of Overall Process

11

Page 12: iot based home automation

• Training phase: camera continuously records the performance of the user.

• Phase one: camera will take the current performance of the user.

• Phase two: uses smart phone and iot based microcontroller for appliances control using Wi-Fi.

TECHNOLOGY USED:• INTERNET OF THINGS• The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of

physical objects—devices, buildings and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity—that enables these objects to collect and exchange data

• It is emerged from divergence of wireless technology.

• It is the new revolution of internet.13

Page 14: iot based home automation

• Internet of things is also called internet of objects

• The aim of the IoT is that enable things to be connected any time, any where with any thing and anyone .

• The IoT will generate a self-motivated network of Billions or Trillions of wireless identifiable “things”

• The new rule for the future is going to be ‘ Any thing that can be connected ,will be connected and the connected devices talking to each other’.

14

Page 15: iot based home automation

Novelty• The term "Internet of

Things" is coined by Kevin Ashton 1999.

• In 2005 the United Nations first mention IOT in an international telecommunications union report.

• In 2008,first international conference off internet of things was held in Zurich

Future Scope• The various future applications may be used by

controlling various household devices of house with internet.

• In the future work, the persons other than the residents will also be considered.

• Industrial automation and management through internet.

• Improvement of security problems• Used in extremely restricted areas.

CONCLUSION Proposed power consumption and HAS enhances

mobility and supports monitoring & control of devices from any remote location.

Simple. User friendly. Useful for physically disabled and old aged people. IoT based HAS is better than all traditional existing HAS.
