The Road Infrastructure in Republic of Macedonia is consisted of:

Highways: 216км National roads: 906км Regional roads: 3806км Local roads: 8566км

• Along Republic of Macedonia pass two Pan – European Corridors:

Corridor X North-South Total extension of 172км (along Macedonia 172км from

which 70.1% has been already constructed, 29.9% being ready for construction)

Corridor VIII East-WestTotal extension of 304км (along Macedonia 304km from which

27.6% has been already constructed, 8.7% being currently under construction)

• In 2010 a section of the Corridor 10 will go

under construction

• Section Demir Kapija - Smokvica with total

length of 28 км

• Total amount of 169 mil euros

• With mutual financing from EIB; IPA;

In May, 2008 a contract has been signed for a loan from the World Bank.

Total value of 70 million Euros.

The loan will be used for rehabilitation and reconstruction of local and regional roads.

• All necessary preparations for the tender for concession of the roads in Republic

of Macedonia are finished.

• The road sections that will be given under concession are :

• Section1- Romanovce-Uzem (border with R. Bulgaria) through Stracin and Kriva Palanka;

• Section2- Skopje bypass to Blace (border with R. Kosovo);

• Section3- from Gostivar to Trebenista through Kicevo;

• Section4- from Kafasan (border with R. Albania) to Bitola through Struga, Ohrid and Resen;

• Section5- from Veles (Otovica) to Medgitlija (border with R. Greece) through Prilep and Bitola;

• Section6- from Veles (Otovica) to Obel (border with R. Bulgaria) through Stip and Delcevo; and

• Section7- from Stip to Miladinovci through Sveti Nikole.
