A recent study has show that over two thirds of 14-29 year olds use WhatsApp on a daily basis, compared to only 3% for Twitter, which makes it less popular than Tumblr (4%) and on a par with Google+.

Mobile payment provider YAPITAL will close down in January 2016 despite a 50% stake in the 200,000-user strong industry, consumers have not taken to the service over cash and cards.

Mobile usage in France continues to grow, with almost two thirds of residents now owning a mobile, 70% of which a smartphone. The most popular activities are email (75%) and search (65%). Tellingly, this order is reversed when related to tablets, with more people using their larger device for researching products and services than email.

A survey conducted for the Danish Chamber of Commerce shows that a fifth of Danes intend on spending up to half their Christmas budget online, with a further 10% of the population likely to allocate over 50% to e-commerce sites.

Average Christmas expenditure exceeds DKK3,815 (£360, of which DKK850 £80) will be used online.

Three Swedish banks are now supporting MasterPass online payments. The development from Nordea, Swedbank and SEB should pave the way for an increase in online spend across multiple user devices.
