WE HAVE 3 TYPES OF PROJECTS1. Our Club’s Contributions (not “Club Projects``) . Usually, these are our Club’s Financial contribution to someone else’s project. . Also, can be Service Labour ( ie Sweat Equity ) to someone else’s project.
2. Our Projects supported by a District Grant (DG ). Can be Community or International.. Project can be any size ... but the Grant limited to $5K (a 7080 policy).. Must apply by Mar 1 for the next Rotary year.
3. Our Projects supported by a Global Grant (GG) . Only International. . Apply any time, project can be any size .. generous financial assistance. . Funds provided are determined by a formula. . RI is encouraging large GG projects.

Contributions to projects by other clubs or RI, usually financial, but can be world-service labour.

Tour of South East Africa Rotary Projects . School Equipment (Dominican Republic ) . Stop Hunger Now (at the 2013, Rotary Conference) . Ron Woods, Habitat For Humanity (2015, Florida)
These activities are personal choices and outside our Committee’s budget.
2. DISTRICT GRANT PROJECTS (DG)A. The Process:
. Apply using the District’s website
. Enter concise info about:
- description ... define the RI “Area of Focus” There are 6 ... Peace, Disease, Sanitation, Maternal health, Education Economic development - host country buy-in and involvement
- scope, work plan, initial budget - benefits - Rotary participants and what they will do - sustainability - District Funds requested, max $5,000
. Apply by March 1.

A. The Process ( continued)
. Our District assembles all applications into a “ Spend Plan” for the coming year, and forwards to The Rotary Foundation (TRF).
. If and when approved, clubs have the funds July 1+ for the coming year(s).
. Club sets up a “Project-Specific” bank account, controls and reporting.
3. GLOBAL GRANT PROJECTS ( GG )A. The Process:
. Apply using the 11- page TRF/GG application form.
. Requires a Host (local) Club and an International Club (that’s us).
. Enter . info similar to a DG ... description, area of focus ( 6 ), benefits, sustainability, . detailed, itemized budget, . source of funds from Club(s), District (s), other participants ... then request TRF to “Top Up to the budget”, but within the TRF formula, . signatures-of-commitment from Club Presidents, Districts, other participants,
( this GG application requires a lot of planning, defining and data gathering)
. Transmit to TRF, anytime in the Rotary year, anticipate changes, wait for approval.
. Set up a Project-Specific bank account and controls, initiate project, report.
OUR CLUB’S 2014/15 STATUSContributions, DG’s and GG’s
. Issued cheques for our 2014/15 Contributions: - Polio Plus and Shelterbox - $ 3,000 to RCBN’s Guatemala farm project, GG - $ 5,000 to California Club’s Bloom Hospital, GG
. Applied for a $5,000 DG for 10 wheelchair kits ... 2015/16 year, waiting.
. World-Service Labour: . upcoming opportunity with RCBN. . assist the wheelchair initiative.
. Our Club has no GG project in the works.
