The American Academy in Berlin Berlin Prize Residency Program Deadline: 9/30/15 The American Academy offers residential fellowships to emerging as well as established scholars, writers, and professionals who wish to engage in independent study in Berlin. Around two dozen Berlin Prizes are conferred annually. Fellowships are typically awarded for an academic semester or, in some cases, for an entire academic year. Only the Bosch Fellowships in Public Policy may be for shorter stays of six to eight weeks. Fellowship benefits include round-trip airfare, housing at the Academy, partial board, and a stipend of $5,000 per month. The Academy’s furnished apartments at the Hans Arnhold Center are suitable for individuals and couples; accommodations are available for families with children at the Hans Arnhold Center or at nearby apartments. All fellows are expected to reside at the Hans Arnhold Center during the entire term of the award. American Academy in Rome Rome Prize Eleven-Month Fellowships Deadline: 11/1/15 The Rome Prize is awarded to emerging artists and scholars in the early or middle stages of their careers who represent the highest standard of excellence in the arts and humanities. Rome Prize recipients are generally invited to Rome for eleven months (some design fellowships are six months and some pre-doctoral art history fellowships are two years). The Rome Prize consists of room and board, a stipend and separate work space, and privileged access to Rome. Eleven-month fellowships generally begin at the Academy in early-September and end at the beginning of August. Winners of six-month fellowships may choose to begin in early September and end in early-March or begin in early-January and end in early-July American Institute of Indian Studies Fellowship Competition Deadline: 7/1 AIIS welcomes applicants from a wide variety of disciplines. Applications to conduct research in India may be made in the following categories:

Senior Research Fellowships: Available to scholars who hold the Ph.D. or its equivalent. Senior Fellowships are designed to enable scholars in all disciplines who specialize in South Asia to pursue further research in India. Senior Fellows establish formal affiliation with an Indian institution. Short-term awards are available for up to four months. Long-term awards are available for six to nine months. A limited number of humanists will be granted fellowships paid in dollars funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Senior Scholarly/Professional Development Fellowships: Available to established scholars who have not previously specialized in Indian studies and to established professionals who have not previously worked or studied in India. Senior Scholarly/Professional Development Fellows are formally affiliated with an Indian institution. Awards may be granted for periods of six to nine months.

Senior Performing and Creative Arts Fellowships: Available to accomplished practitioners of the performing arts of India and creative artists who demonstrate that study in India would enhance their skills, develop their capabilities to teach or perform in the U.S., enhance American involvement with India’s artistic traditions, and strengthen their links with peers in India. Awards will normally be for periods of up to four months, although proposals for periods of up to nine months can be considered.

American Institute for Sri Lankan Studies Fellowship Program Deadline: 12/1 The sponsor provides fellowships to support two to nine months of research in Sri Lanka by U.S. citizens who already hold a Ph.D. or the equivalent at the time they begin their fellowship tenure. Both scholars with little or no experience in Sri Lanka as well as specialists are encouraged to apply. Projects in all fields in the social sciences, humanities and policy sciences are eligible. Proposals in other areas that contribute to the understanding of Sri Lankan history, culture, or society are also invited. The American Research Center in Egypt Fellowships for Research in Egypt Deadline: 1/15/16 ARCE administers research fellowships for students enrolled in doctoral programs at North American universities, and for postdoctoral scholars and professionals affiliated with North American universities and research institutions. Fellowships are awarded for periods ranging from 3-12 months, depending on the funding source. Areas of study include Archaeology, Architecture, Art, Economics, Egyptology, History, Humanistic Social Sciences, Islamic Studies, Literature, Political Science, Religious Studies, Anthropology, Coptic Studies. American Research Institute in Turkey Fellowship Programs Deadline: 11/1/15 The sponsor provides fellowships for research in Turkey on ancient, medieval, or modern times, in any field of the humanities and social sciences. Grants for tenures up to one academic year will be considered; applications for projects of shorter duration are also supported. The Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies The Snorri Sturluson Icelandic Fellowships Deadline: 10/31 Granted to writers, translators and scholars (not to university students) in the field of humanities, from outside Iceland, to enable them to stay in Iceland for a period of at least three months, in order to improve their knowledge of the Icelandic language, culture and society. Australian Academy of Science Selby Travelling Fellowship Deadline: June 15 Fellowships are awarded to distinguished overseas scientists to visit Australia for public lecture/seminar tours and to visit scientific centers in Australia. Fellows are expected to increase public awareness of science and scientific issues and accordingly will be outstanding lecturers to the

See other travelling fellowships: https://www.science.org.au/travelling-fellowships Australian National University Humanities Research Centre Visiting Fellowships Deadline: Contact sponsor The Humanities Research Centre, with the Research School of Humanities & Arts (RSHA), administers a visiting fellowship program to enhance its national and international links with humanities scholars. The Humanities Research Centre visiting fellowship program has been running for the last 35 years. Scholars working within any of the three large research themes/clusters of the RSHA (Crossing Cultures, Crossing Times; Art, Creativity and Performance; and Lives, Literatures, Languages) are welcome to apply. The HRC will fund a number of short-term visiting fellows (of up to 12 weeks) to take up residence at the HRC. The funding covers air travel and accommodation for the period of stay. Visiting fellows will be provided with office space and ANU library facilities. Bogliasco Foundation/Liguria Study Center for the Arts and Humanities Bogliasco Fellowships Deadline: January 15th and April 15th Approximately 50 Fellowships - or residencies - are awarded to artists and scholars in the various disciplines of the Arts and Humanities (Archaeology, Architecture, Classics, Dance, Film/Video, History, Landscape Architecture, Literature, Music, Philosophy, Theater, and Visual Arts). Fellows are provided with living quarters, separate private studios and full board for a month at the Study Center in Bogliasco, Italy. Applicants should demonstrate significant achievement in their disciplines, commensurate with their age and experience. Residencies at the Bogliasco Study Center last approximately 30 to 34 days and are scheduled during the two semesters of the academic year: Fall (mid-September to the third week of December) and Spring (Early February to the second week of May). Calgary Institute for the Humanities Fellowships Deadline: the last Friday of October The Calgary Institute for the Humanities was established at the University of Calgary in 1976 to foster advance study and research in a broad range of subject areas. It supports work in the traditional disciplines such as languages and literatures, philosophy, and history, as well as in philosophical and historical aspects of the social sciences, arts, sciences, and professional studies. The "humanities" are thus not conceived as a specific group of academic disciplines, but as forms of study that explore human reality and experience, guided by literature, by history, and by philosophical analysis and reflection. The Camargo Foundation Fellowship Program Deadline: 6/27 The Camargo Foundation, located in Cassis, France and founded by artist and philanthropist Jerome Hill, is a residential center offering programming in the humanities and the arts. It offers time and space in a contemplative environment to think, experiment, create, and connect. The Foundation encourages the visionary work of scholars, artists, and thinkers in the arts and humanities.

Center for Chinese Studies Research Grant Program to Assist Foreign Scholars in Chinese Studies Deadline: May 31st This program is designed for foreign professors, associate professors, assistant professors and doctoral candidates in departments related to Chinese studies at foreign universities, as well as researchers at related foreign academic institutes. Research tenure is three months to one year. The Centre for Environmental Economics and Policy in Africa (CEEPA) Visiting Fellowships Deadline: contact Margaret Chitiga Mabugu at [email protected] Visiting Fellowships for African and international scholars visiting academic and research institutions in Africa are funded annually under this program. The purpose of the fellowship is to enhance teaching and research capacity in environmental economics and to help creating an environment in which retention of staff within participating departments is enhanced. Faculty members of academic and research institutions in Africa and non-African scholars who wish to use a sabbatical or study leave away from their home institution at an African institution are eligible for funding under this fellowship. Applications should be well motivated with specific expected deliverables and outcomes to be achieved by utilizing the fellowship applied for according to the purposes and specific objectives of this program. The visiting fellow will be required to achieve a significant advancement in his/her teaching or research abilities during the fellowship/residency period and/or contribute to supporting teaching, research and supervision of students' thesis research activities at participating departments. Centre for International Education Sabbatical Position Deadline: September 15th The sponsor offers a sabbatical position for qualified candidates tenable at University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria. Core functions might include any of the following: - Conducting research and publishing reports; Preparation of research proposals for funding and contribution to the general development of research capacity in the University; Supervision of postgraduate students; Limited teaching in undergraduates, short time courses and postgraduate programmes; Establishing networks and linkages with other national and international research institutions and funding organizations. The Center for Khmer Studies Senior Fellowship Competition for U.S. Scholars Deadline: 11/15/15 Scholars can pursue research in other countries in mainland Southeast Asia (Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Burma, Southern China) provided that part of their research is undertaken in Cambodia. Senior Fellowships are open to scholars in all disciplines in the social sciences and the humanities to pursue further research in Cambodia and Southeast Asia. Short-term awards are available for up to four months. Long-term awards are available for six to nine months. Fellowships for four months or less have some travel restrictions. Council of American Overseas Research Centers Multi-Country Research Fellowship Deadline: 1/30/16 The Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC) Multi-Country Fellowship Program supports advanced regional or trans-regional research in the humanities, social sciences, or allied

natural sciences for U.S. doctoral candidates and scholars who have already earned their Ph.D. Preference will be given to candidates examining comparative and/or cross-regional research. Applicants are eligible to apply as individuals or in teams. Scholars must carry out research in two or more countries outside the United States, at least one of which hosts a participating American overseas research center. Approximately nine awards of up to $10,500 each will be given. Funding is provided by the State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Council on Foreign Relations, Inc. International Affairs Fellowship in Japan Deadline: 10/31/15 The program provides a selected group of mid-career U.S. citizens the opportunity to expand their professional horizons by spending a period of research or other professional activity in Japan. Fellows are drawn from academia, business, government, media, NGOs, and think tanks. The duration of the fellowship is between three and twelve months. The program awards a stipend in yen, which covers travel and living expenses in Japan. Council for International Exchange of Scholars Fulbright Programs for U.S. Scholars Deadline: varies by program The flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to “increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of

other countries.” Grantees lecture and conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields. Programs include the Core Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program, NEXUS Regional Scholar Program, Global Flex Award, Postdoctoral Scholar Awards and Specialist Program. European University Institute Programmes and Fellowships Deadline: varies by program

Max Weber fellowships are designed for junior post-docs who would like to pursue an academic career, concentrate on their own research and enhance their academic practice in a multidisciplinary environment. Max Weber Fellowships are for 1 or 2 years and are open to candidates who have received a doctorate in the social sciences (economics, law, political science, sociology, history and related fields) within the last 5 years.

The Jean Monnet Fellowships are designed for scholars who have obtained their doctorate at least 5 years before the start of the fellowship. During their stay at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS), fellows work on a research topic that fits well in the overall research profile of the RSCAS and participate in the academic life of the Centre and of the EUI. Jean Monnet Fellowships have a duration of 1 year, renewable once.

Fernand Braudel Senior Fellowships provide a framework for established academics with an international reputation to pursue their research at the EUI. Fellowships last for up to ten months in one of the EUI's four Departments which in turn invite fellows to participate in departmental activities (seminars, workshops, colloquia, etc.).

The Fulbright-Schuman Program, administered by the Commission for Educational Exchange between the United States and Belgium, is jointly financed by the U.S. State Department and the Directorate-General for Education and Culture of the European Commission. It funds projects dealing with U.S.-EU relations, EU institutions, or EU policy.

This Fellowship is available to U.S. citizens who have received a doctorate within the last five years.

The Canon Foundation and the EUI jointly award one Canon Foundation Fellowship each year for post-doctoral research at the EUI. The fellowship is open to candidates of Japanese nationality or permanent residents of Japan.

The Academy of Finland awards fellowships for post-doctoral research at the EUI. A project to be funded shall serve Finnish research and society or international collaboration.

Departments and the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies) acts as a host institution for Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships (IF) which are awarded by the European Commission.

Gladstone’s Library at Saint Deiniol Scholarships Deadline: 11/1/15 The sponsor providing a scholarship to those studying in the fields of Christian Liturgy, Biblical Studies or Church History. Scholarships are awarded for any period from a week or two weeks. Scholarships only cover use of the Library and the cost of bed and continental breakfast at Gladstone's Library. They do not cover the cost of travel to and from the Library or any extra charges incurred during your stay (e.g., lunch, drinks, telephone calls or dinner). Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies Fellowships Deadline: varies by program

Fifteen I Tatti Fellowships, each for twelve months, are available annually for post-doctoral research in any aspect of the Italian Renaissance broadly understood historically to include the period from the 14th to the 17th centuries, and geographically to include transnational dialogues between Italy and other cultures (e.g., Latin American, Mediterranean, African, Asian etc.).

A limited number of Mellon Fellowships, each for periods ranging from three to six months, are available each academic year for advanced research in any aspect of the Italian Renaissance. This Fellowship is designed to reach out to Italian Renaissance scholars from areas that have been underrepresented at I Tatti especially those living and working in Asia, Latin America, the Iberian Peninsula, the Mediterranean basin (except Italy and France), and Arabic speaking nations.

A limited number of Craig Hugh Smyth Fellowships, each for three months, are available each academic year for advanced research in any aspect of the Italian Renaissance. The Fellowship is designed for scholars who do not have the benefit of sabbatical leave. This group includes curators, administrators, and conservators, as well as scholars who, having the primary responsibility of caring for young children, do not have easy access to major research libraries and research.

One David and Julie Tobey Fellowship is awarded annually to support research on drawings, prints, and illustrated manuscripts from the Italian Renaissance, and especially the role that these works played in the creative process, the history of taste and collecting, and questions of connoisseurship.

Villa I Tatti and the Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations of Koç University (RCAC, in Istanbul) offer a joint, one-year fellowship. Scholars will spend a semester at each

institution to carry out research on interaction between Italy and the Byzantine or the Ottoman Empire (ca. 1300 to ca. 1700). Subjects covered include art, architecture, archaeology, history, literature, material culture, music, philosophy, religion, and science.

The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) offers a small number of Frederick Burkhardt Residential Fellowships for Recently Tenured Scholars engaged in long-term, unusually ambitious projects in the humanities and related social sciences. Burkhardt Fellowships are intended to support an academic year (normally nine months) of residence at any one of the national residential research centers participating in the program, including I Tatti.

Hebrew University The Lady Davis Fellowship Trust Deadline: varies by fellowship The Lady Davis Fellowship Trust was established 41 years ago in 1973 to provide an opportunity for Visiting Professors, Post-Doctoral Researchers and Doctoral Students from abroad, regardless of nationality, gender or field of scholarship to teach, study and participate in research in Israel at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and at the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa. The Lady Davis Trust offers two different fellowships: for visiting professors and for post-doctoral researchers. International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS) Fellowships Deadline: February 1st The position of affiliated fellow is intended for outstanding researchers (also see 'Terms and conditions') from around the world, to work on an important aspect of Asian studies research in the social sciences and humanities. Interdisciplinary interests are encouraged. We also welcome researchers who would like to work on a collaborative grant proposal or develop their Ph.D. thesis into a book publication We are particularly looking for researchers focusing on the three IIAS clusters: 'Asian Cities', 'Asian Heritages' and 'Global Asia'. However some positions will be reserved for outstanding projects in any area outside of those listed. Applications that link to more than one field are also welcome. International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS) IAS Postdoctoral Fellowships Deadline: 12/7/15 The Institute of Asian Studies (IAS) at the Universiti of Brunei Darussalam was established in 2012 to initiate and encourage issue related research on Asia, especially Southeast Asia. It is focused on three areas: Borneo Studies, Human/Capital Movements, and Popular Culture. It has a current staff strength of sixteen drawn from various disciplines, including Anthropology, Sociology, History, Politics, Geography, and Comparative Literature; and expanding rapidly. The Institute of Asian Studies invites applicants from any of these or related disciplines with a research interested in the region. The area of specialization is open and provides an early-career researcher the opportunity to write, publish and contribute to the activities of the Institute. Internationales Forschungszentrum Kulturwissenschaften (IFK) Senior and Research Fellowships Deadline: varies by fellowship

IFK_Senior Fellowships are designed to support excellent scholars, who are well advanced in their academic careers. Qualified scholars are eligible without regard to nationality, institutional, or departmental affiliation; although preference is given to applicants of international repute who have published significant papers in recognized refereed journals and books that establish the author as a leading expert in his/her academic field.

Research Fellowships are designed to support post-doctoral scholars early in their careers. Applicants must have a Doctorate or a Ph.D. at the time of application. Qualified scholars are eligible without regard to nationality, institutional, or departmental affiliation; although preference is given to qualified Austrian applicants.

The Austrian Fulbright Commission and the IFK Internationales Forschungszentrum Kulturwissenschaften in Vienna are offering grants to U.S. scholars and graduate students of cultural studies. An annual one semester Fulbright/IFK_Senior Fellow in Cultural Studies grant will provide U.S. scholars with an opportunity to conduct research at IFK, which is particularly interested in soliciting applications from scholars whose fields of interest and expertise are in interdisciplinary and comparative cultural studies and humanities, relevant to the IFK's overall research program, especially to its present research foci.

Irish-American Cultural Institute Visiting Fellowship in Irish Studies at National University of Ireland-Galway Deadline: December 31st The sponsor provides funding for fellowships of four months or more at the National University Ireland- Galway, for scholars normally resident in the United States whose work deals with any aspect of Irish Studies. The stipend is $4,000 plus transatlantic travel. Japan Foundation Japanese Studies Fellowships Program Deadline: November This program provides preeminent foreign scholars and researchers in the field of Japanese Studies with opportunities to conduct research in Japan, with the aim of supporting them and promoting Japanese Studies overseas. Experts in the fields of natural science, medical science, and engineering are excluded. Scholars and researchers (long-term) conduct research related to Japan (comparative research included) in the humanities and social sciences over a period from 2 months (60 days) to 12 months. Scholars and researchers (short-term) conduct research related to Japan (comparative research included) in the humanities and social sciences, whose projects require them to travel to Japan to carry out research, gather materials, etc., intensively over a period of 21 to 59 days. Korea Foundation Fellowships for Field Research Deadline: 8/31 The fellowship provides assistance to Korea-related humanities and social sciences scholars to pursue research and write scholarly papers (includes Korean studies or Korea-related comparative studies and case studies). Approximately 30 professors and researchers from overseas universities are selected annually for the fellowship. The award includes round-trip airfare and living expenses in Korea.

Marshall Scholarships Marshall Sherfield Fellowships Deadline: 10/10/16 (no fellowships will be offered for 2016) The sponsor provides funding to enable American scientists or engineers to undertake post-doctoral research for a period of one to two academic years at a British university or research institute. The aim of the Marshall Sherfield Fellowships is to introduce American scientists and engineers to the cutting edge of UK science and engineering. It is intended that this in turn will build longer-term contacts and international links between the United Kingdom and the United States in key scientific areas. Matsumae International Foundation Fellowship Program Deadline: 8/31 The sponsor is offering up to twenty fellowships of three to six months in duration for doctorate degree holders who have never been to Japan. The aim of the Matsumae International Foundation is to invite active young research workers of outstanding character, without regard to sex, race, religion, ideology or nationality, to Japan to undertake a period of research. Fields of study such as natural science, engineering and medicine are given first priority. Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Visiting Fellowships in Canadian Government Laboratories Program Deadline: None Provides promising emerging scientists and engineers with the opportunity to work with research groups or leaders in Canadian government laboratories and research institutions. Fellowships are awarded for one year with the possibility of renewal for a second and third year, at the discretion of the government department concerned. National University of Singapore/Asia Research Institute (Senior) Research Fellowships, One-Year Visiting (Senior) Research Fellowships and Postdoctoral Fellowships Deadline: August The positions are intended for outstanding active researchers from around the world, to work on an important piece of research in the social sciences and humanities. Interdisciplinary interests are encouraged. Up to three months of a 12-month fellowship may be spent conducting fieldwork in the Asian region. Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences Fellowships Deadline: 8/15 NIAS Fellows are selected from prominent researchers and senior scholars in the humanities and social sciences who have already made a contribution to their field. At least 3 years of post-Ph.D. degree academic experience is a prerequisite for eligibility. Fellowships at NIAS are residential fellowships. Fellows are offered an office at the institute and a studio apartment or family apartment. NIAS fellowships are in principle awarded for advanced research during a full academic year, running from 1 September till 30 June, or for one semester, i.e. from 1 September to 31 January or 1 February to 30 June. Since NIAS is a residential institute, Fellows are expected to work on the campus full time. The rules of the Institute state that a Fellow in Residence is free to attend conferences etc., and to take leave with the restriction that his absence from the Institute will not

exceed a total of five weeks (including holidays) during a full year period (three weeks for one semester). Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Visiting Fellowships Deadline: contact [email protected] These fellowships are offered to support research in any area of the arts, humanities, or the social sciences that has relevance to the study of Islam or the Muslim world (particularly anthropology, economics, geography, history, international relations, law, literature, philosophy, politics, religion, and sociology). Palestinian American Research Center (PARC) Fellowship Competition for U.S. Scholars Conducting Field-Based Research on Palestine Deadline: 12/17/15 The sponsor awards post-doctoral and/or doctoral research fellowships in Palestinian studies. Any area or time period of Palestinian studies will be considered, including the humanities, social sciences, economics, law, health and science. The research must contribute to Palestinian studies and must take place in Palestine, Israel, Jordan or Lebanon. Rhodes University Fellowships Deadline: varies by fellowship

The Rhodes Postdoctoral Fellowships are intended to foster existing academic research and scholarly or creative activities within university departments and institutes. Ideally a Fellow's proposed work will closely complement existing programmes in the host department. The Fellowships are intended to foster existing academic research and scholarly or creative activities within university departments and institutes.

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has established a number of Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships in the Humanities and Social Sciences at Rhodes University. These fellowships are for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a further year. The fellowships are intended to foster existing academic research and scholarly or creative activities within university departments and institutes. Ideally a Fellow's proposed work will closely complement existing programmes in the host department.

The Hobarton Houghton Fellowship is intended to promote work of scientific value, relevant to the economic problems of the Eastern Cape, which could contribute to the development of the region.

The Hugh Le May Fellowship is available in alternate years to senior scholars who wish to devote themselves to advanced work in one of the following subjects: Philosophy, Classics, Ancient, Medieval or Modern History, Classical, Biblical, Medieval or Modern Languages, Political Theory, Law. Where there is no applicant of sufficient merit in any of the above disciplines, the Fellowship may be awarded to an applicant in another discipline within the Faculty of Humanities. The Fellowship is between three and six months duration.

The Hugh Kelly Fellowship is for a senior scholar with a well-established research record. The fellowship is open to those researchers who were awarded their Ph.D.s more than five years ago. The fellowship is awarded to enable senior scientists (with at least a Ph.D. qualification) to devote themselves to advanced work in any one of the Science Departments of Rhodes University, South Africa: Biochemistry and Microbiology, Botany, Chemistry,

Rockefeller Foundation/Bellagio Center Arts and Literary Arts Residency Deadline: 12/1/15 The Bellagio Arts & Literary Arts residency is for composers, fiction and non-fiction writers, playwrights, poets, video/filmmakers, and visual artists who share in the Foundation’s mission of promoting the well-being of humankind and whose work is inspired by or relates to global or social issues. The residency is for artists seeking time for disciplined work, reflection, and collegial engagement with a diverse community of academics, practitioners and artists. The Center typically offers stays of two to four weeks long, in a community of 15 fellows that typically includes 3-5 arts resident fellows. Rotary International Peace Fellowship Deadline: 12/1/15 Each year, Rotary funds some of the world's most dedicated and brightest professionals to study at Rotary Peace Centers. Through training, study, and practice, Rotary Peace Fellows become leaders and catalysts for peace and conflict resolution; many go on to careers in national governments, NGOs, the military, law enforcement, and international organizations like the United Nations and World Bank. The Rotary Peace Fellowship is designed for professionals with work experience in international relations or peace and conflict prevention and resolution. The University of East Anglia Visiting Research Fellowships Deadline: 11/27/15 The Sainsbury Research Unit offers two Visiting Research Fellowships in each academic year for the study of the arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas. Normal duration is three months, coinciding with Autumn and Spring terms. Applications are welcomed from scholars of appropriate standing in such fields of the Humanities and Social Sciences as Anthropology, Art History, Archaeology, History and related disciplines. The University of Edinburgh Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities Visiting Research Fellowships Deadline: 2/28/16 Applications are invited for Visiting Research Fellowships of between two and six months. No limitation is placed on the area of research within the Humanities and Social Sciences. The Institute exists to foster interdisciplinary activities in the Humanities and Social Sciences and has a particular interest in using its visiting fellowships to build international collaborations. University of Melbourne Redmond Barry Fellowship Deadline: April The sponsor provides funding for a fellowship to be awarded to scholars and writers to facilitate

Up to $20,000 shall be awarded to assist with travel, living and research expenses. Fellows will be based at the State Library of Victoria for three to six months. Fellowships are open to scholars and writers from Australia and overseas. University of St. Andrews Centre for Ethics, Philosophy and Public Affairs Research Fellowship Deadline: November 30th The sponsor is seeking to provide fellowship to individuals who will engage in an area of philosophy relevant to the work of the Centre, but this requirement is broadly interpreted. Fellows are also expected to take part in Centre activities that take place during their tenure of the fellowship; fellows also participate in and contribute to research seminars in the Department of Moral Philosophy.
