This competition may be used to establish a 12 month eligibility list of qualified candidates for future vacancies. DUTIES The Instructor, Baking and Pastry will teach in both the Culinary Arts and Professional Baking programs. The instructor will plan, develop, teach and evaluate both lab and theory courses. Instructional duties may include courses such as Patisserie 1 & 2, Pastry 2, Plated Desserts , and Quick Breads and Viennoisserie. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Baking and Pastry Certificate: equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered Baking Red Seal Experience with advanced desserts, pastry and chocolate in a retail setting Effective organizational skills Experience in creating and delivering presentations Demonstration of excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment Experience with Microsoft Office Interpersonal skills which demonstrate the college values of learning, respect, inclusiveness, integrity and contribution to community Leadership skills Values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commitment to lifelong learning ASSETS Baking and pastry competition experience Teaching in a post-secondary setting CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends COMPETITION NUMBER 2019-047 CLOSING DATE April 8, 2019 SALARY $30.52 - $45.33 hourly* *The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,725 or $5,450 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.
