Production companies and Distributors
There are many different famous production companies and distributors, I will be looking at their logos. some things I will analyse will be the colours, font used on the logo and links it has to the name.
Some of the famous companies are: Warner Brothers, Universal, Pixar, Metro Goldwyn Mayer and Paramount.
Pixar
Pixar’s logo has a light blue background fading to darker blue as it goes upwards. Their logo spells out the famous production name ‘Pixar’ which lets the audience know who the production company is. Pixar's target audience is children and families. The logo relates to the audience because the font looks fun and it is very basic and childlike.
Universal
Universal uses the universe as its logo with the earth in the middle. This relates to the companies name being Universal. The colours In the background are dark and the company name is white which makes it stand out on the logo. We chose this logo because it is a very popular company and easily recognisable. We put a twist on the logo to suit our film. Also universal frequently distribute small British production companies.
On The Brink
We chose to design our logo like this because it suits the genre of our film. With the dull black colour and the innocent white, it shows two sides to the production company. So the audience never know which side they will be shown. Our logo is very stylised and traditional which suits our target audience because we are aimed at an audience between 15-30 years of age. Therefore we did not have to make it colourful to suit a younger audience. The standard font of the writing because it is easily visible and the colour stands out clearly on the white background and vice versa with the white on black.
