Soft), 6B ( soft) (2) Pieces, Compressed Charcoal (1 each) Black, Sepia and White Conte Crayon (2) Charcoal Pencils - 2B (Soft) and 6B (Very Soft) (1 pkg.) Vine Charcoal Pink-Pearl Rubber Eraser or Vinyl Drafting Eraser Gum Eraser Kneaded Eraser, Gray, Eberhardt-Faber Brand or comparable quality Bottle, India Ink Black Pen Holder with 2 Hunt, Fine Line or Crowquill Pen Points Small Pocket-size Sharpener Straight Edge Metal or Plastic Ruler Portfolio, for carrying pads, at least 18" x 24" The Materials needed for this course will be reviewed in the first session as additional materials may be needed for the term. ADDITIONAL TIME REQUIREMENTS Students will need to dedicate 3 or more hours per week beyond class time working on their drawing projects. Assignments will require students to make drawings outside the classroom. : COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES : Students will: Draw from the still life, using line and tone. Draw interior views using linear perspective. Apply a full-value range to their drawings that incorporates the presence of light and shadow and create convincing illusions of form in space.

DEPARTMENT POLICIES:

A student enrolled in an Art Program must maintain a grade of C or better for courses required in that program. If a student receives a D grade in a required course within a program, that course must be repeated.

Students will not miss more than 15 minutes of a class. This includes arriving late to a class or leaving class early. If a student misses more than 15 minutes of a class he/she may be considered absent.
