ROSE HILLS CANYON VIEW CREEKSIDE

CCSI has had multiple Memorial Parks and Cemetery projects over the past few years. So many, we added it as a new category to our list of core competencies.

Rose Hills Canyon View Creekside was one such project. It included moving and relocating more than 180,000 yards of terrain on an eight-acre site. The entire area was compacted and filled in the disposal site to a new rough grade design. A SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan) was put in place after grading operations for both cut and fill site.

The project’s design consisted of two retaining walls, which also required temporary relocation of 112,000 yards of earth. Additionally, excavation of eight more feet was requested by the owner for future use. Even with the added work, this job was completed in 70 days and within the scheduled deadline.

From Tony & Joe... This year marks the 25th year Consolidated Contracting Services has been in existence! Reaching this incredible milestone presents a perfect time to reflect and appreciate all God has done for us. It is nothing short of humbling to think about what brought us to this point, and it evokes a tremendous feeling of gratitude. We want to take this time to thank our employees, whose commitment, attitude and perseverance push us forward. We’d also like to thank our clients and their loyalty to CCSI. All of our business is relationship-based, and the majority of our projects are the result of repeat clients. This is something we are particularly proud of and something we do not take for granted! We look forward to the next 25 years with excitement. We will continue to embrace the changes within our industry, always looking for new opportunities and growth, and continually thanking God for his provision.

CCSI NAMED IN OCBJ’S LIST OF FASTEST-GROWING

PRIVATE COMPANIES

The Orange County Business Journal (OCBJ) published its annual list of the Fastest-Growing Private Companies in September. Here are some of the exciting details about the list and just how far we’ve come in our 25 years of business!

• CCSI placed #18 in the mid-size private company list.

• A total of 73 companies were listed.

• CCSI was one of only four general contractors/construction firms.

• The compilation was based on the last two years’ revenue growth.

• OCBJ also surveyed companies to find the change in number of employees for the past two years.

• In June 2012, we had 45 employees. In June of this year, we had 77.

• We currently have 80 employees!

CORE COMPETENCIES

A core competency is a deep proficiency that enables a company to deliver an exclusive value to customers. It embodies an organization’s communal learning, particularly of how to coordinate diverse production skills and incorporate multiple technologies.

The core competencies of a company define it.

These core competencies are expanding on the kinds of contracting jobs that we can do and as a result, they are a contributing factor to our growing success. Since our founding, CCSI has experienced continued growth. If we follow and comprehend CCSI’s core competencies, we will be able to better understand our company’s values and goals as a whole.

CONSTRUCTION FUN FACTS

The sixty-story John Hancock Tower in Boston is haunted by one of the more mysterious problems in skyscraper history. The building, completed in 1972, was less than a month old when suddenly dozens of its windows began popping for no discernible reason. Determined to remedy the situation, the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company replaced all 10,334 windows with 400-pound sections of half-inch tempered glass. The windows kept popping out. Today, the mystery remains unsolved, and windows occasionally still pop. To protect passers, John Hancock has hired two permanent guards who do nothing but peer up and spot the cracked panes before they tumble to the sidewalk.
