Tips for Successful 1:1 Meetings (1/2)
One of the most valuable recurring meetings that leaders conduct are 1:1 meetings with their direct reports
If you take 1:1 meetings seriously, so will your direct reports. 1:1 meetings is a powerful tool at all levels
Consider also 1:1 meetings with peers in cases where improvements would be beneficial

Be consistent – schedule the meetings a standing meeting, and cancel or postpone sparingly
Make it clear to your direct reports that this is their meeting – encourage them to take advantage of the face time
Make notes – ask follow up questions in subsequent 1:1 meetings to facilitate discussions about the noted items
Ask for feedback after each meeting to ensure progress
