important because making the wrong hiring decision can be very expensive.

Making a mistake in the hiring process can cost the organization up to one years' salary for the position by the time a replacement person is hired, so it's very important to get the hiring process right first time!

This workshop provides managers and supervisors with the skills needed to identify and select the best job candidates by going beyond traditional interviewing techniques and using behaviorally based interviewing together with pre-employment assessments to make the best possible hiring decisions.

After completing this workshop attendees will be able to:

• Identify the competencies and skills needed by job candidates to be successful

• Ask questions to determine if candidates have the required skills, knowledge and abilities for success

• Look for diversity of thinking, backgrounds, and life experience when hiring

• Identify if the candidate fits with the organization’s culture

• Avoid hiring on surface characteristics and appearances only

• Consider the candidate’s potential future value and growth in the organization

• Use available evidence such as assessments and personality profiles not just the interview to make the best hiring decisions

Date Workshop Description Workshop Learning Goals2/7/2014 Business pressures are ever-increasing and

organizations are now required to become even more effective and efficient, execute better on business strategy, and do more with less in order to remain competitive.

Unfortunately when someone mentions performance management or annual reviews the typical response is often for managers and employees to cringe. Many managers and supervisors avoid performance management related tasks, but forward thinking companies take steps to successfully address this negative view of performance management.

This workshop will provide managers and supervisors with concrete guidelines and practical steps that they can use to improve the performance management processes in their teams or departments.

After completing this workshop attendees will be able to:

• Establish performance goals and expectations for employees that are in line with the organization’s vision, mission, and strategy• Identify how the employee's performance will be measured and evaluated• Provide constructive performance feedback to employees while maintaining their moral and motivation• Put an employee performance development plan in place that will help the employee to reach higher levels of effectiveness

Date Workshop Description Workshop Learning Goals2/14/2014 When the work of a manager gets beyond his

capacity there should be some system of sharing the work. This is why delegation of authority becomes an important tool in which authority and powers are divided and shared amongst subordinates.

Through delegation, a manager, in fact, is multiplying himself by dividing/multiplying his work with the subordinates, yet many managers and supervisors are reluctant to delegate their authority.

This workshop provides managers and supervisors with the tools they need to increase their effectiveness and develop subordinates by delegating effectively.

After completing this workshop attendees will be able to:

• Move from domination to delegation by empowering employees appropriately• Identify why many managers and supervisors are reluctant to delegate their authority • List the rules and guidelines for empowering employees• Analyze the barriers to delegating in their organization
