IntroductionI will be talking about the Impact of European colonization on indigenous people. I will talk about their life before, during and after the colonization for each topic. The three topics I chose to talk about are: RolesFamilies separated Europeans being sorry RolesBefore: They were semi-nomadic. They moved by seasons. During: They were hunters, trackers. There was no use of them unless Europeans could use them. After: Normal people. Some Aboriginals are now westernized and some of them go to school.

ExampleWhen Molly, Gracie, Daisy ran away, Molly was the tracker, hunter. She led them to their home and she was the one who was hunting for food and leading the way.

Families separatedBefore: They lived with their families in an area. They cant cross the fence. They stay only in their land with their familiesDuring: They were taken away from their families. They Europeans sent them thousand miles away because they are half-caste and want them to marry white people so that they can breed the color out of them. Some would run away and try to go to their mothers. After: They now live in Queensland in towns/cities/ and rural remote areas with their families. 30% live in cities42% in towns27% in rural and remote areas

Example of Family SeparationIn the movie Rabbit proof Fence Mr. Nevielle took Molly, Gracie and Daisy away from their families. They were separated. They were taken far away from them. They wanted to go back to their families so they ran away.Europeans being sorryBefore: Before the colonization the Europeans were wanting to take the half-caste Aborigines and take all the black out of them.During: they took them away from their families and they were treated really badly. They had to only speak English and they had to do what they were asked to do.After: The Europeans felt sorry and realized what they have done and they didnt have the right to do all that. So they had to walk across Sydney Harbour Bridge and say sorry. Now in Australia it is compulsory to teach the students Aboriginal studies.

ExampleThe Australians walked across Sydney Harbour Bridge and said sorry and they were holding posters saying Sorry to the aboriginals. This is a one day celebration. They do it every year. This day is called Sorry day.

ConclusionThe Europeans impacted a lot on the Aboriginals because they changed their life. They took the children away from their families and they were treated really badly. Also they took their land away. After years when they realized what they have done they gave them their land rights back. Now they live like normal people but some of them are still living in the small area where aboriginals lived before. Bibliography:"Aboriginal People." - Survival International.
