In a few more days it will be 2010 which could bring with ita whole lot of challenges for the entire world. As the US isnow the main source of global pandemonium and terrible worldanxiety, our fortunes next year could either get very trulyfried or we might get some unexpected relief depending on theprevailing idiosyncrasies that happen to be coursing throughthe WH. Therefore as this month draws to a close, we will begreeting 2010 with much trepidation and anticipation.

In recent times, the evil US was either stirring up unrests,busily invading other lands, threatening numerous sovereigncountries around the globe, blackmailing foreign economies,borrowing huge sums of other people's money, imprisoning manyforeign citizens and torturing them or very wantonly and verymercilessly maiming and killing men, women and children andalso almost totally wrecking the entire world's economy byits extremely unrestrained and unceasing lust and greed.

The last one directly resulted in a very catastrophic globaleconomic meltdown with countless people thrown out of theirjobs and homes. Food shortages were seen, largely caused by

rumours and speculative activities and violent crime becamea very serious problem in many parts of the world.

The US took great advantage of the global mayhem to quicklyproceed to behave like a lawless state in the internationalarena or as like a vicious drunkard in the high street.

Innocent civilians were regarded as free cannon fodder forUS soldiers and no distinction was made between innocent men,women and children and insurgents on the battlefield. Everyliving thing in sight was regarded as a target and the NATOand US armies employed phosphorous munitions on foreign soilwithout any fear of repercussions.

In the past twelve months, the US got a new leader but yetcontinued its old ways. Outright threats, very unreasonabledemands and bellicose statements were freely issued to alland sundry, including those who were financing the actionsin Iraq and Afghanistan.

Inside its own country, the US authorities still failed toprotect innocent citizens. There were numerous incidents ofshootings which produced a number of fatalities. Also, thepolice in the US behaved just like before, with many cases ofpolice brutality, intimidation and excessive use of force.But US leaders and politicians continued to merrily dish

out unwarranted or completely false accusations of rightsviolations in other nations. It was sheer evil hypocrisy.

In January, the month of Obama's inauguration, US police inCalifornia shot to death a young man lying on the ground inan execution-style killing. Such killings are quite commonin the US and they indicate a continuing failure by the USauthorities to fully respect the basic civil rights of theindividual, especially individuals from minority groups.

In May, US police savagely assaulted a man who was mentally

unstable causing him serious injuries. He was badly beatenfor 'wandering in the street' and for 'disorderly behaviour'and apparently, for not wearing a shirt in public. Again, hewas a minority person and this particular incident provedthat in this day and age in the US, there are communitieswho are still being treated less than equal in comparisonto others. Their rights as human beings very clearly are oflesser value. 'Disorderly behaviour' and 'disorderly conduct'

are vague charges that are always slapped with gay abandonby US police against minority persons in the US with the aimof throwing them into police cells or even jailhouses. Invarious parts of the country, minority youths are 7 to 28times more likely to end up in adult holding centres (whencompared to the majority white population) due to this kindof very vague charges being allowed to exist in US society.

This was again apparent in the case of the arrest of notedHarvard scholar Louis Gates in July. The police took a dimview of him due to his skin colour and arrested him for the'crime' of entering his own home via the back door. He wasinvited to 'step outside' his home and handcuffed in full

public view. Such an arrest is very common in the US eventoday, most especially whenever minority individuals faceoff with the US police and almost always as a consequenceof police prejudice. So, it's disorderly conduct ? But bywho ? The unfortunate victim or the jaundiced-eyed police ?

This kind of blatant disregard for 'others' is even extendedto foreign countries. Other nations who are not exactly atthe beck and call of the US are constantly criticised andeven threatened and a few are forced to accept US demandsfor unrestricted military access and relocation of secretdetainees under the very hush-hush US 'irregular rendition'programme. Torture is allowed and innocent people suffered

greatly as a result. Thus the US practised total hypocrisyand even encouraged others to do likewise.

The US also brought in a leader who got 're-elected' in asham election and got the UN boss to declare it legitimate.Then it lost no time and proceeded to ship in another bigbatch of soldiers to enable more killings of more innocentpeople. Surely it's clear that the US grew fat on innocenthuman blood and unbridled human hypocrisy throughout 2009.

2010 should be no different as the present leader is justas bad as the previous one and therefore more human bloodand more human hypocrisy could be expected to criss-cross

all over the globe. We need to stand up to the demons inWashington, London, Berlin, Paris and eleswhere and rejectvigorously their demands for innocent human blood and thepractising of unbridled evil hypocrisy.

2010 should be the year when we all could start to awakenfrom the drunken stupor of 2009 that was wholly caused bythe recklessness of the US capitalists, US supremacists andUS imperialists and their underlings in many places aroundthe world. In 2009, they were completely given free rein todo whatever they liked. But in 2010 we must be determined
