House Walls

• The thicker the walls the better they will sound proof your house.

• When purchasing a house, make sure that the walls meet an STC (Sound Transmission Class) of 45-50.

House Floor and Ceiling

• You should make sure that your house ceiling and floor are properly matted.

• There are matts available that can dampen the noise level, by absorbing the noise.

House Doors

• Even in a room with thick walls, a door with a small crack or hole can transmit unwanted sound in and out of room.

• Make sure that you cover all the gaps in the door, by lining the door with rubber soundproofing lining.
