RECYCLING IS NOTHING NEW

Recycling has been around ever since Earth was around.

Nature recycle resources, dead plants, and animals.

HISTORY

• Human disposing has been recorded in the early 400 B.C.

• Recycling has put into practice mostly, during the industrial times and World War 2.

FIRST EARTH DAY

Environmental movement in 1960s to 1970s.

Earth day started in April 22, 1970. Recycling became a mainstream

movement. Recycling was enforced by the law.

WHY RECYCLE?

Recycling can always be annoying, so why not just throw away?

Page 7: Importance of Recycling

REASON

Early humans learned that throwing things away is wasteful, and can cause health concerns.

A wise thing to do. Create more jobs. Better economy and environment. Save limited resources.

HOW MUCH IS THERE LEFT

About 70 % of the Earth’s surface is cover with water. Only 1% of the 70% of water, is usable water.

DEFORESTATION

Forest are being destroyed at a rate of 1 acre per second. Reasons: • Mining • Farming • Logging • The rate of paper

recycling is only about half of what is being produced.

Page 10: Importance of Recycling

HOW WILL IT AFFECT US

What happens if we don’t recycle, any of our waste.

Page 11: Importance of Recycling

NO MORE TREES

Rain forest covers about 14% of the earth’s surface, and produce more than 20% of the world’s oxygen. If the current destruction rate continues, within this century all of our rainforest will be gone.

TRASH IN THE FUTURE

Land is being cleared to make room for landfills.

The amount of trash that the United States produces has tripled in the past 50 years. At that rate, we will be producing nearly a billion tons of trash a year by 2060.

Page 13: Importance of Recycling

• The disappearing forest leads to the increasing of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

• More land fills, can cause water pollution and health problems.

As result without, recycling the earth, will become a horrific place to live.

IMPORTANCE OF REUSING

What good will it do if we recycle?

Page 15: Importance of Recycling

EFFECT OF RECYCLING

A better greener future , and environment for up coming generations.

SAVE! SAVE! SAVE!

By uniting and recycling, we can save a lot of limited natural resources. Not just water or trees can be save through recycling, but many elements as well.

STRONGER ECONOMY

Recycling can lead to a stronger economy, by saving money.

HEAL THE WORLD

The world works like a machine, and everything on earth is part of the machine. To truly recover from the damage that was caused to the environment, people have to unit and heal themselves. The nature’s health are connected to our health as well, so as result we have to heal ourselves in order to heal the world.
