The Imagine the Magic Gala will attract 800 of Greater Toronto’s top ‘movers and shakers’, social conscious urban professionals who want to help gives kids with and affected by childhood cancer what they need – the chance to be kids! The evening celebrates the challenges our campers have overcome through inspiring testimonials shared over a pre-dinner cocktail reception, a gourmet sit down dinner and live auction.

The evening also includes Ooch’s signature Paddle Project Auction, featuring canoe paddles artistically designed by famous artists and celebrities like Charles Pachter and Chris Hadfield.

The Imagine the Magic Gala will raise an anticipated $1 million net. Funds raised enable Camp Ooch to provide magical camp experiences to kids with and affected by childhood cancer across Ontario.

About Camp OochigeasA childhood cancer diagnosis changes what a child has, not who a child is. But it turns a family upside down.

There is the possibility for great joy in the darkness that is childhood cancer, and the potential to heal, grow and connect. Camp Oochigeas (Ooch) is a privately funded, volunteer based organization that provides kids with and affected by childhood cancer unique opportunities for growth through challenging, fun, enriching and magical experiences.

Ooch is a year-round social support system for kids affected by childhood cancer and their families in Ontario. We bring kids to Ooch, and we bring Ooch to kids through camp-inspired programs at our overnight camp in Muskoka and communities and paediatric oncology centres across Ontario. We’re the only overnight oncology camp in Canada with the ability to give IV chemotherapy and blood products so that even the most medically fragile patients can just be kids.

At no cost to their families, Ooch brings confidence, resiliency, independence and fun to over 700 campers outside of the hospital and 900 in the hospital.

Ooch is ready to do more in so many ways. Our aspiration is to serve every child and family in Ontario affected by childhood cancer. But currently, 2,400 kids with cancer across the province don’t have access to an oncology camp. With your support we can bring the overnight camp experience to more kids, including those from distant cities and regions, or from families new to the concept of camp. We can embed Ooch in Ontario health centres where kids with cancer get treatment. And we can broaden our support to more parents and siblings, wrapping the whole family in an experience of caring and healing.

Camp Ooch’s Imagine the Magic Gala provides kids affected by childhood cancer magical Camp experiences. Your sponsorship support sends kids to themed cabins at Camp. The junior cabins (ages 6-9) are called Jays, the intermediate cabins (ages 10-12) are called Larks and Bobolinks and the senior cabins (ages 13-14) are called Sparrows.
