Why Lavender Bubbles? My 3 year old grandson, Miles called me while I was in Las Vegas in March this year. “ Hi Grandma. I know you flew far away in a big air-

plane to Las Vegas.” Then I heard Miles’s little 2 year brother softly

say, “Grandma, you lost?’ “No Corby, Grandma’s not lost, she’s just in

a place called Lost Vegas.” I was not lost physically, but I was lost mentally and emotionally because I could not think of a really terrific

state theme for my biennium. I thought about playing cards as I am a

Bridge lover. No. Then I thought of books as I love to read. My three favorite authors include Jayne Anne Krenz, who always writes about

dynamic women and the men who love them and a mystery solved; Dr.

Seuss, Oh, the Places We Could Go; God-the Bible. No, I couldn’t

make a theme about books work. Finally, as I enjoyed a bubble bath, I thought of Lavender Bubbles. Yes, a theme about bubbles could work!

Relax, serve, enjoy, POP, love. Oh, I WILL make this work.

LOVE: To support educational excellence; to increase fraternal friendships through membership.

PEACE: To promote world understanding.

BLESSINGS: To share our talents and gifts through altruism. Now you know a bit of what I enjoy. Relax in Lavender Bubbles,

make them your own.

“God grant me the serenity to prioritize the things I cannot dele-

gate,

The courage to say NO when I need to

And the wisdom to know when to go home!”

BUBBLE EDITORIAL

It was announced that only 3 chapters represented the Board. I differ with

that as I counted the chapters represented on the elected board, there are 7.

Now granted there is heavy representation from the Central district but

there are 12 chapters in that district. Go figure! Yes, there are some who

have stayed on changing positions from biennium to biennium. I thank

those dedicated members. Committees have more representation as a few

committees have members from each district. What am I saying? First, I

applaud and thank those who continually serve our Alpha Delta Kappa. Sec-

ondly, we should expand our leadership throughout the state. Invite our

president and big sisters to let them get to know you. Come join us at a

board meeting. Attend district, regional and International meetings. Step

up your involvement. Continue your altruistic service.

Love, Peace and Blessings

The new International website began in May. Sisters should have received around May 4th their username and password directly from headquarters. It should have arrived to the email you have on file with headquarters before the changeover. It is then recommended you change your username and password to something you will remember by going to http://[email protected]/ . Click on the sign in button in the upper right hand cor-ner, log in using your assigned information and then change your username and password. This information is included in the email sent from headquarters earlier. If you need help accessing the new site contact Laura Bourgeois, Executive Director. Her email is [email protected] .

The Illinois Alpha Delta Kappa website has been online as of April. You

can access the website from both the International site or go to

http://illinoisalphadeltakappa.weebly.com/ . We are using a different hosting

site than headquarters which allows us the ability to add and modify infor-

mation on our site that is important to just our Illinois sisters. We would love

to see every chapter create a chapter website highlighting their chapter. We

hope that you can use your chapter site, as well as the state site to help en-

courage new membership. Katie Voegel is our new website manger. If you

are needing more information contact her at [email protected] .
