    The IGE Project

  • IGE was formed to realise the opportunity of converting waste products and plastics destined for landfill, into Australian standards transport fuel.

IGE is the first fully continuous waste plastic conversion facility in Australia.

This technology has been combined with other technologies to close the loop on waste recycling

    Overview

  • 2012 Constructed a 1 ton-per-hour Demonstration Plant

    located at Berkeley Vale NSW

    2013

Constructed a 40tpd commercial plant demonstrating the conversion of used tyres, lubrication and waste plastics to fuel oil and high grade carbon char

    2014

Terms Sheet agreed to with Foyson Resources Limited Commenced construction of a 50tpd commercial plant at

Berkeley Vale NSW. Due to begin production mid 2015

    Development Status

  • Waste Plastics just keep growing due to:Population Growth In fewer than 50 years the worlds population has grown from

4 billion people to 7.167 Billion The UN Projections the population will increase 20% by 2050

to 8.9 billion humans inhabiting the planet

Developing economies generating more consumersThe OECD estimates that an overall increase in average incomes in emerging economies and a global effort to eradicate poverty will result in the global middle classgrowing to 3.0 billion people by 2020.

    The Waste Opportunity

  • Australian Feedstock Supply PACIA (Plastics & Chemicals Association Australia) Market Statistics

Report 2011 - 2012 states that Australia produces approximately 1.5million tonnes of plastic each year, however the import of plastics inother forms / products is difficult to quantify and has beenconsistently excluded from the study.

Industry sources claim this could be as high as an additional 1.5 milliontonnes min of waste plastics, giving a total of approximately 3 million tonnesper annum of waste plastics.

Of plastics which are recycled in Australia, 30% of this is utilised in Australiawith the remaining 70% traditionally shipped predominately to Asia.Recently China and other Asian countries have tightened the qualitystandards of waste plastic imports causing a reduction of off take, furtherincreasing flow to our landfills.

  • Australian Feedstock Supply

IGE is seeking to take advantage of this waste stream and roll out 4 commercial plants strategically placed within Australia over the

next 2 years requiring 126,000 tonnes of waste plastics feed stock.

This will be source by diverting plastic from landfill in Australia

  • Converting waste plastics into fuels with its proprietary, fully automated and continuous flow process.

    The IGE Solution

  • IGE has developed the solution for this ever-growing problem, by commercialising technology to effectively gather, recycle and re-usenon-biodegradable plastics and convert them into useful, renewable energy sources such as Diesel fuels, LPG, Oil, and Electricity.

IGE has perfected this solution through intensive, collaborative research and development of technologies that will assist LGA's and State / Provincial governments in reducing the dependence on landfillsites whilst producing valuable, sustainable and renewable energy sources.

    The IGE Solution

  • IGEs Technology is made up of two components:

    1. CATALYTIC RE-STRUCTURINGThis technology subjects waste plastic (polymers) to a high temperature heat environment in the presence of catalytic media. This causes the large molecule polymers to break down into smaller molecules forming gas and liquids. The liquids are fractionated into hydrocarbons in the form of petrol (gasoline), kerosene and diesel fuel. A commercial plant capable of processing 40 tpd of recovered plastics or tyres was developed by IGE in Berkeley Vale, NSW in order to prove the technology.

    2. INDIRECTLY FIRED GAS TURBINE (IFGT)This technology utilises the non-condensable gases produced in the restructuring process to both generate electricity for the process (with surplus being sold to the grid) but also uses the waste heat from the turbine engine to power the Catalytic re-structuring process

  • Ability to process a highly contaminated feedstock (RDF derived plastics)

Does not require external power Does not require external fuel Is highly efficient yielding over 80% liquid products by mass Is modular leading to quick construction times. Utilises the extremely high temperatures developed in the IFGT to

    destroy any by-products

    IGE Technology Advantages

  • The Market

With 4 plants running 0.12 GLor 0.2% of Market

  • The Business ModelThe IGE business model is as follows

Feedstock Divert waste plastic from landfill

Technology Low cost, proven technologiesHigh Yield, net energy generator

Product Fuel meeting the Australian diesel andpetrol standards (Not Biodiesel)

Customers Sophisticated diesel fleets usersSophisticated wholesale fuel blenders

Margins Do not rely on tip feesDo not rely on government subsidiesDo not rely on any green revenueDo not rely on oil majors to off-take product

  • The Business Model

IGE is seeking to take advantage of this waste stream androll out 4 commercial plants strategically placed within

Eastern Australia over the next 3 years requiring 126,000 tonnes of waste plastics feed stock.
