WHY COORDINATED SCIENCE ?

• It’s a combination of Physics-Chemistry-Biology

• It will be compulsory to all students, not like before that student can go for an alternate to science subjects

• It is double award subject which means student will register for one subject but will achieve two certificates from Cambridge

• This subject will keep all doors open for students in future

Order of optional subjects placement…..• ICT/Accounting

• Both subjects are about data recording, data analysis and data management

• ICT will be more helpful to students in future in every kind of qualification as compare to accounting, which is only beneficial to those students who are planning to go for Chartered accountancy/Public accountancy or any accounting based degree in future

• Economics/Business studies

• Both subjects contain almost same kind of concepts at root level which are about money, business management, resource allocation etc.

• Business studies can be a better option for students who are planning for science subjects like medicine, engineering or specific science qualification because it is much easier as compare to economics

• Economics should be taken by students who are planning to go for social science or business degree based qualification because it is a compulsory subject at university level in all kind of degrees apart from science subject based qualifications

•The Travel & Tourism Industry has a variety of sectors that include Retail Travel, Wholesale Travel, Visitor Information, Tour Operators, Cruising, Transportation, Events and Services. Each industry sector has a range of job roles.

•There are jobs that are visible that you may come across when you book a holiday like a Travel Agent and the ones that are not so visible like a Wholesaler who works behind the scenes putting the holiday packages together .

AS-LEVELS KEY STAGE 5 (YEARS 12)

• Dubai Carmel School proudly announces the commencement of AS level classes from the academic year 2014-2015. Our Sixth Form Curriculum will feature good teaching, enhanced by outstanding levels of care, guidance and support. All students will be taught by Specialist Tutors who will be supervised by the IGCSE Coordinator and Departmental Heads of Science and Business Sections.

A typical Sixth Form student will sit for three (3) AS Levels exams at the end of the 1-year course. An A level course is split into two halves AS level after first year and A2 level after second year. Proper counseling will be provided to our AS level students to commence their studies at University level during their AS level studies.
