Support of students mobility to gain higher education in accordance with

the Bologna Declaration

The University participates in international programs funded by the European Union. Recently a number of projects have been supported by TEMPUS, involving educational and scientific institutions of Austria, Greece, Germany, Russian Federation, Sweden, UK, Poland, Azerbaijan and Belarus. The University also takes part in cross-border projects in cooperation with partners from Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.University scientists participate in international conferences, scientific and educational symposia in Russian Federation, Poland, Algeria, Germany, Slovakia, Norway, Austria, Sweden, Belgium and Hungary. The University regularly hosts international delegations from related universities in order to improve academic quality. Every year students have scientific and practical traineeships in Poland, Germany, Turkey, Romania, Austria, Norway, the Czech Republic, Greece, Macedonia, India and Canada. Close cooperation with AGH University of Science and Technology (Krakow, Poland) enables our scientists to participate in Fellowships Programs. Besides, IFNTUOG students can receive Master's degrees from this largest oil and gas University in Poland. In 2012 59 graduate students of the University received Master's diplomas in AGH.

The University holds its own publishing house that meets printing needs of the University. It publishes six academic journals.

Annually, 110-150 issues of teaching guides, practical guides, and curricula with a total circulation of 5.5 – 6.1 thousand copies are published. 70% of them are stored in the library fund.

40-45 issues of manuals, textbooks, lecture books are published with a total circulation of 2.0 thousand copies; 15-20 of them are recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Publishing

The Library Service promotes the quality of learning, teaching, research and training at the University. Annually it serves 30 thousand readers who are provided with more than a million copies of learning materials.

Its fund contains 1.23 million copies, and electronic catalog includes over 224 thousand bibliographical descriptions of books, brochures and articles from different periodicals. The national library and informational system "UFD / Library" provides automation of library operations. Moreover, the library network has several dozens of computerized workplaces and is connected to the Internet.

The library's collection comprises more than 3 000 copies of rare editions the value of which can scarcely be exaggerated.

Geological Museum was founded by a highly educated and talented geologist of the Precarpathian region Yulian Medvetskyi, who began systemizing samples and establishing a museum, working at the Department of Mineralogy and Geology of Lviv Technical Academy in 1973. The items purchased at exhibitions, during different expeditions and from private sellers in Bonn, Paris, Prague, Vienna, New York, Geneva, Philadelphia have significantly enriched the Museum collection.

For more than 135 years over 15 thousand exhibits have been collected from all over the world. Currently the Museum is considered as one of the best in Europe due to the variety of collections of minerals and rocks. Its high status was confirmed by recognizing the Museum's mineralogical collection National Property Object that is part of entry files of the State Register (Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine №1103-Р of December 15, 2007).

Innovation Exhibition Complex (IEC) having the area of over 1,000 square meters was built with the assistance of NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" and dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the University. Its aim is to demonstrate the achievements of enterprises and organizations of the petroleum industry of Ukraine as well as the pilot projects of the university's scientists.

This Complex helps to implement pilot projects and begin new ones by making contacts with new business and academic partners from different regions of the country.

University History Museum, renewed in 2007, covers the area of 250 sq.m.This Museum contains old and modern exhibits. The most valuable are those of scientific and educational nature such as personal things of famous scientists in oil and gas industry, who worked at the university. A special place in the Museum is given to the history of oil and gas production, stages of petroleum education development in Ukraine, originated in Galicia. It holds materials related to the establishment of university, chronicles of schools and departments, photographs, paintings, souvenirs and other gifts from around the world. The museum contains approximately 1,500 exhibits. It is visited annually by 5 thousand students, faculty staff and guests.
