ADOX HR-50 is based on an emulsion commonly available for technical purposes and produced in large amounts.We modify this film from the master roll and confection it to Super8, 35mm, 120 and sheets (4x5) in our factory near Berlin.The film speed is enhanced to 50 ASA using ADOX´s new SPEED BOOST- technology.The gamma is reduced so it becomes perfectly usable for pictorial photography in regular developers.A dedicated ADOX HR-50 developer is available as well. This developer is especially recomended for portrait photography. ADOX HR-50 can be used as an Infrared film and responds extremely well to any sort of filtration (yellow, orange, red, blue, green).The new ADOX *SNAP-ON*- Gelatin Filters are a prefect match.

The examples above show our modification in a pictorial way with an Infrared use of the new film (Heliopan IR 750 filter).The image on the left is taken with exactly the same exposure and development without ADOX SPEED BOOST modification and the image on the right ist taken with ADOX SPEED BOOST.If you look closely underneath the van you can see the increased shaddow detail. The reduced contrast can easily be seen on the trees and in the stonepile left of the van as well as on the van tires and bumper.
