Idea Store Events and Activities

Come and join us to start your new year with fun and festivities!

Over the next two months, we have a whole host of activities and events for you to enjoy from; storytelling, arts and crafts to exhibitions and more. Celebrations include Valentine’s Day, National Storytelling Week, Chinese New Year and many half-term events for children.

Polly Gould: Antarctic Archive14 December - 13 JanuaryGould’s new installation uses archival methods to present an encounter with the romanticised yet contested and fragile continent of Antarctica. Made from a collection of found and original images and texts, the work taps into our fascination with the apparently exotic and unknown. Giorgio Sadotti18 January - 10 February Sadotti modifies what we think we know in order to allow latent possibilities to surface.The exhibition will include a large scale text installation using a font invented by the artist with the aim of mimicking the process of speech.

Temporary Closure for Building Works

Tower Hamlets Local History Library & Archives is currently closed to the public for building works to replace the Victorian-era roofs and fit a new accessible lift. The library will re-open in spring 2013 on completion of the first phase of roof works.

Local History Library and Archives Temporary Closure for Building Works
