AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMPSHeat energy is collected from the external ambient airusing the heat pumps integral evaporator coil. This energyis then transferred as high grade heat into the building.

Our air source heat pumps provide a very efficient means of utilising renewable energywhilst being very straightforward in their installation.

The DeLonghi-Climaveneta range of air source heat pumps provides units withcapacities from 5kW to 200kW which are suitable for a wide range of applications.

Single phase 240v powered air source heat pump units are available up to a capacityof 14kW and three phase 415v units complete the range for larger residential heatpump and commercial applications.

Modular capability allows for the multiple connection of up to six units operating asone single package, hence large capacity projects can be specified by utilising thismodular configuration approach. The single controller ensures that running hours areequalised & maintained across the various heat pumps whilst also ensuring that thesystem operates with maximum modular part load efficiency at all times.

HIGH TEMPERATURE HEAT PUMP DESIGNATION MEANS THE UNIT IS DESIGNED TO DELIVER A 60ºC OUTPUT TEMPERATURE AT A -5ºC AMBIENT CONDITION

DHW Twin

WITH HEAT RECOVERY

Unit Description

The DeLonghi Professional BWR DHW are a unique range of commercial groundor water source heat pumps which are capable of providing a high efficiencycombination of output conditions:

• Heating only• Simultaneous heating and hot water to 55ºC. • Hot water only• Cooling only• Simultaneous cooling and hot water with up to 100% heat recovery• Simultaneous cooling and heating with up to 100% heat recovery

• These units can be specified to suit a particular application and due to theirability to provide two simultaneous outputs they are able to provide real benefits on both residential and commercial applications.

• Within the commercial sector these heat pumps provide flexibility and realenvironmental benefits. As an alternative to conventional VRF systems these units remove all of the refrigerant from within a building and therefore significantly remove the potential for refrigerant leakage therefore complying completely with the objectives of the F Gas regulations.

• Also when operating on a split heating/hot water and air conditioning loadthese heat pumps will provide up to 100% heat recovery which then benefits the user with free heating or hot water.

• A growing demand for energy and heat recovery has created a highly efficient requirement to use these units to recover waste energy from wastewater or fluid flows, recovering energy from cooling towers or waste waterflows is easily achievable when utilising these units in heat recovery specification.

• Also these heat pump units will provide up to 100% duty on either primaryor secondary heat exchangers along with the ability to provide a combination of load capability heating and hot water simultaneously or heating and cooling simultaneously with up to 100% heat recovery. This allows the heat pump units to provide this simultaneous output feature to manage seasonal heating and cooling loads from the same heat pump unit.

• These DeLonghi-Climaveneta units are high specification heat pumps whichare built to exacting standards with regard to efficiency and functionality. Allthe units are European manufactured and benefit from the DeLonghi-Climaveneta approach to product development and quality management providing the complete package that would be expected from a premier manufacturer.

Buffer Tanks (Carbon Steel) 100 - 2000 litres capacity

Best practice standards require a buffer tank to be incorporated within any heat pump system. The buffer tank provides thermalmass and inertia to the system whilst providing a thermal buffer during the heat pumps defrost cycle.

The buffer tank also provides an efficient means of incorporating any number of heat pumps or distribution circuits within a single systemi.e. a standard multi tap buffer allows for 2 x heat pumps and 2 x output circuits to be easily connected.

• Provide adequate thermal mass

• Ensure system volume is maintained at all times (regardless of any zone control)

• Provides thermal inertia during the defrost cycle

The buffer tank also provides a thermal break between the heat pump and the distribution system, this allows both sides of the system(heat pump and property) to operate at the optimum temperature difference in order to achieve maximum efficiency. A heat pump willrequire a narrow temperature differnece (typically 5ºC to 6ºC) where as the distribution system may require a wider temperature differencei.e. when specifying a retrofit installation or similar.

Example: 210 Litre

Buffer vessels are a high quality duplex stainless steel tank that contains a volume of water asper the specification table shown above.

The Buffer store is insulated to a very high standard using high density HCFC free foam casedin a steel shell and therefore has an ozone deletion potential (ODP) of zero and a globalwarming potential (GWP) of 1.

ICS HPT also provide a range of carbon steel buffer tanks up to 2000 litres in capacity. Pleasecontact technical sales support for details.
