In September 2014 the main branch relocated to new stateoftheart campus in Al Mushrif, that provides an outstanding learning environment and facilities that fully incorporate “Smart School” technology. ICS branches provide an opportunity for our students as: (i) a US college preparatory programme that has fully integrated Common Core standards; (ii) the National Curriculum of the UK, including IGCSE. The International Community School, Abu Dhabi is looking for a Principal with significant US Curriculum experience to effectively lead the school community and promote high standards of student learning, attainment and progress. The Principal will be responsible for setting the school strategy in line with its vision, and should have a strong commitment to excellence in education. Position Responsibilities: Work directly with the Vice Principal(s) and management team, in a mentor and coaching role, to develop leadership and management skills and expertise in both academic and operational staff; Exhibit the necessary school leadership, educational professionalism, school management, curriculum and instructional skills, as well as coaching and mentoring skills that are fundamental to our work in school; Guide the Vice Principal(s) in preparing schedules, staff assignments, setting job performance standards, and evaluating staff; Develop and evaluate educational programmes in line with Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) requirements; Liaise with ADEC and other government institutions and accreditation bodies (e.g. AdvancED) to ensure high quality of communication between the school and these institutions; Responsible for the school establishment with regard to staffing, enrollment, facilities, resources, implementation of curriculum, and ensuring high quality teaching in the delivery of the curriculum; Excellent organizational and managerial skills including the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team and an exceptionally strong faculty; Establish an evaluation program for teachers and students, and ensure full implementation and feedback;

• Develop  a  high  level  of  communication  with  parents  and  the  community;  • Create  a  good  environment  for  teachers  and  students  to  explore  their  talents  and  innovations;  • Establish  a  dialogue  with  international  education  centers  for  establishing  best  practices;  • Develop  a  learning  development  plan  for  teachers  training  and  workshops;  • As   public   information   officer   of   the   school   and   supervisor   of   public   relations   program,   generate  

public  support  for  the  school’s  program  and  education;  • Monitor   the   school’s   health,   safety,   security   and   environmental   practices   and   ensure   compliance  

with  relevant  regulations;  e.g.  civil  defense  and  HAAD;  • Formulate   staff   and   student   policies   and   procedures,   e.g.   code   of   ethics,   and   assume   overall  

responsibility  for  the  performance  of  all  staff  in  the  execution  of  their  duties;    • Ensure  regular  evaluation  of  performance  and  provide  performance  feedback  to  staff  members.      Preferred  qualifications  and  experiences  for  this  positon:  • Strong  academic  background,  including  a  minimum  of  a  Master’s  degree  in  the  field  of  education;  • Minimum  of  ten  years  of  school  leadership  experience,  ideally  leading  a  school  at  international  level;  • Previous  successful  teaching  and  leadership  experience  in  international  school  setting  or  equivalent;  • Possess  a  strong  understanding  of  cultural  differences  and  experience  in  leading  a  multi-­‐cultural  

institution;  • Experience  and  familiar  with  AdvancEd  accreditation  requirements  and  ADEC  inspection  procedures; • Strong  experience  in  comprehensive  strategic  planning  with  outstanding  organizational  and  time  

management  skills;  • Ideal  candidate  should  have  previous  working  experience  in  the  UAE,  GCC  or  Middle  Eastern
