Introduction
Course Purpose
The ICAO Ins t ruc to rs Cer t i f i ca t ion i s
d e s i g n e d t o i d e n t i f y p e r s o n n e l w i t h
established AVSEC experience coupled with
instructional skills. Upon completion of this
training, qualified instructors will be able to
present specialized ICAO aviation security
training courses and ICAO Coordinated
Assistance and Development workshops to
selected personnel as direct representatives
of the ICAO Coordinated Assistance and
Development Section.
This course wil l train aviat ion security
personnel at managerial level to plan,
coordinate and implement the application of
airport security preventive measures in
accordance with approved programmes.
Course Objectives
The course objectives are as follows:
a) Subject Matter Expertise will be verified
through the administration of an AVSEC
written test based on ICAO Annex17 and
the Security Manual for Safeguarding Civil

(the test is scheduled on the first day of the
course and there is no pre-test study time
for students)
b)The principles of course development and
instruction techniques will be reviewed
c)Students will become familiar with Aviation
Security Training Centre requirements
d)Students will become familiar with pre- and
post-training administrative requirements
and in particular the instructor’s roles and
responsibilities
e)Students instructional skill will be verified
during student presentationsWho Should Attend

b) are ICAO AVSEC Certified Instructors; and
c) are currently or have been previously
assigned with instructional duties; and
d) are experienced in aviation operational
matters.

Schedule/Location of the Training
Registration of Participants and Any
Special Dietary Requirements
The opening session of the training course will
be held at 0900 hours on Tuesday (22 June,
2010) at Regal Airport Hotel.
The Regal Airport Hotel is located at 9 Cheong
Tat Road, Hong Kong International Airport,
Lantau, Hong Kong.
The workshop will be conducted in English and
al l par t ic ipants should be f luent in that
language.

Participants are requested to register at the
Registration Desk between 0845 and 0900
hours on the opening day of the training.
Participants are also requested to wear the
identification badge, which will be issued to
them when attending the training and other
official functions. The dress code for the course
is smart attire.
If you have any special dietary requirements,
i.e., require a vegetarian lunch, please inform
the Course Coordinator Ms. Alice Tang prior to
your attendance on the course.
Payment of Course Fees

The basic course fee per participant (to cover
the administrative costs) is US$850. If paying
on the day of course registration, the ASTC can
accept either a bank draft as outlined below or
cash (in US dollars or Hong Kong dollars only).
Drafts are to be issued in US Dollar currency
(US$850)

Passport
All foreign nationals entering Hong Kong must
possess va l i d passpor ts o r o the r va l i d
documents for travel, valid for six months
beyond the expected time of departure from

required to obtain visas for a temporary visit not
exceeding 30 days; however, participants may

HK$850 per single room per night and HK$950
per twin room per night. The rates are inclusive
of 10% service charge and 3% government tax.
The rates also include daily buffet breakfast.

The unit of currency in Hong Kong is the Hong
Kong dollar.
