Hypnosis Weight Loss: Why People

Eat Too Much?

Page 2: Hypnosis weight loss

People can eat too much as a way of filling a hole. Frequently, this happens if

we neglect the spiritual side of life.

Page 3: Hypnosis weight loss

We sense that there is a part of us that is hungry, so we try to feed it in the most obvious way – by feeding our

body.

Page 4: Hypnosis weight loss

Recognising the difference between soul/spirit hunger and physical hunger can go a long way towards addressing

this aspect of the problem.

Page 6: Hypnosis weight loss

Eating too much of the wrong sort of food can also be a sign of unresolved

grief.

Page 7: Hypnosis weight loss

Often, there are certain foods which we associate with particular relatives.

Page 8: Hypnosis weight loss

Parents can also accidentally create eating patterns that set us up for

overeating and comfort eating in later life.

Did your parents ever give you sweets or similar if you fell down and hurt

yourself? Or if you felt sad, did your parents try to cheer you up by giving

you a treat?

Page 11: Hypnosis weight loss

If they did this a lot, then it may have set you up for a habit of turning to the

sweet stuff when you’re feeling in pain, stressed or sad, rather than dealing

with these emotions some other way.

Page 12: Hypnosis weight loss

We also have a bit of an emotional connection with exercise. Often, we

may be put off exercising by negative thoughts about ourselves and bad

memories, some of which may be held at a subconscious level which we’re not

aware of.

Page 13: Hypnosis weight loss

Take the very common situation of being the kid who was always picked

last to be on a team at school.

Page 14: Hypnosis weight loss

You have probably internalised the belief that you’re no good at sports and this will boil over into a general belief that you’re no good at exercise. Or

possibly you had a sports coach who was a bit on the harsh side.

Page 15: Hypnosis weight loss

Or maybe you had a bad accident while playing sport. The idea of exercising may trigger these negative memories and emotions, making you unwilling to get moving – it brings back too many

unpleasant memories.

Page 16: Hypnosis weight loss

The connection between the body, the spirit and the mind is something of a

mystery.

Page 17: Hypnosis weight loss

How we eat affects our moods and our moods affect how we eat. Exercise

affects our emotions and emotions can also affect our exercise.

Page 18: Hypnosis weight loss

It is a very complex problem and weight loss often isn’t as simple as people

think, which is why a lot of people seek help from hypnotherapy for this

problem.

Page 19: Hypnosis weight loss

By the way – if you think that all you need is a session of hypnotherapy is all

you need and you won’t need to exercise or change your eating

patterns, think again. Hypnosis isn’t magic!
