Graco Husky e-Series

Husky 1050e

Introduction

The Husky 1050e is an Electric Operated

1” Double Diaphragm pump

(EODD)

It works like an AODD, but don’t see this as just an

electric AODD!

Why did Graco launch an Electric

Double Diaphragm Pump?

• Energy savings: save on cost of purchasing,

running and maintaining a compressor

• Can be used where no air is available

• To offer the advantages of an air driven

double diaphragm pump using a highly

energy efficient electric pump

3

“As with all things related to diaphragm pumps, the cost to run it depends on several factors including pump size and hours in service. Another key factor is the brand of pump you choose and that product’s efficiency rating. To give you an idea, 2-inch (51-millimeter) diaphragm pumps range in price from $1400 to $6000 and can cost anywhere from $3000 to $11,000 per year to operate.” –Modern Pumping Today

EODD Benefits!• The only electric pump that stalls under pressure

No risk of damaging the pump or pipeline when it’s blocked or a valve is closed

 No extra pressure sensor needed

• Gives you a good level of control (metering, batching)

• Decreases your energy consumption

• No risk of contamination because no hydraulic backing

 No extra pressure sensor needed

• Cost effective alternative to other technologies

• Low pulsation mode of operation

• No exhaust air

• Works at low noise

• Can run dry

• Self Priming

• Can handle abrasives

• Large compatibility (many material options)

• Seal-less design (No mechanical seal)

Key Features

Electric 2HP AC Motor• Increased efficiency

• 110V, 220V, and 480V options

• ATEX options

Air Charged Center• Stalls under pressure

• Minimizes pulsation

• Improves diaphragm life

Operation

Operation

Same fluid parts as AODD

Operation

We use an air pressurized

center section to push the

diaphragms (=pump) and a

center shaft to pull the

diaphragms (=suction)

Operation: stalling

When the pressure pushing on

the outside of the diaphragm

(fluid pressure) is equal to or

greater than the center section

(air) pressure the pump will

stall.

If then the air pressure (center

section) increases (>= fluid) or

fluid pressure decreases (<

air), then the pump will start

pumping again

The motor will keep running all

the time

Operation

FAQ (1/2)

• What is the difference in pressure (fluid/air) you need to run in low pulsation mode:

5-10%

• What is the Quality standard: we tested to the same quality standard as a “standard”

AODD

• What connectivity is available

Brushless DC start/stop and 4-20mA (In future more will be added)

 AC depending on VFD

• Colour: center section ALU = Blue, SST = SST colour

• ATEX: the compressor and VFD is not ATEX so need to stay out of the room

• Is the VFD included with the AC models: the VFD (16K911) is not included

• Can you use the same parts as the AODD (balls, diaphragms, seats): Yes

• Do we have metering in low pulsation mode as well: No

FAQ (2/2)

• What is the minimum speed: 10Hz

• Can I use my own compressor: Yes, any compressor will work

• Can we supply the pump without gearbox: NO, we need to keep control of what happens

in the pump (we only have models without motor, including gearbox)

• When we supply a pump complete with motor, can we replace the motor with a

“standard” off the shelve motor: No

• Can I upgrade an AODD into an EODD: No

• Can I replace an AODD with an EODD: Yes (same connections), but keep in mind the

different volume and pressure of an EODD
