The hummelTeamsport CollectionAutumn/Winter 2014

For the Autumn/Winter 2014 collection, the hummel design team has re—interpreted the concept of Danishness and drawn inspiration from the infamous era of Vikings. Germanic symbols and renditions of armour from a past time are seen in colours, graphics, silhouettes, construction and choice of materials. The collection is made for professional, passionate fighters all over the world.

Scarlet red, neon yellow, bright pink and legion blue all make up the statement colour palette while black, dark and light grey creates a neutral base. The eye catching colours are not only used for jerseys, tees, sweats, accessories and base layer styles but also as part of the construction as well as the intricate print design.

A big source of inspiration has been the runic alphabet and especially The Valknut — three intertwined triangles serving as a symbol of strength, drive and unity. The symbol with its sharp edges and modern, graphic expression is used in a deconstructed version as seen in the all over print, the Armour Gradient print and in the actual fabric construction.

The collection presents high performance styles as well as off—the—pitch kits and gear. For activities, the poly—knits with Cool Zone mesh panels ensure high moisture management, slim rib collars on jerseys ensure comfort and freedom of movement while exposed zones of jerseys, shorts, sweats, pants and hoodies have triple needle topstitching for extra strength. Off the pitch it’s all about jackets, hoodies and shorts in subdued colours. Graphic features like hexagon and Valknut print adorn pockets and hood linings. This is also used in quilting and as a fading, integrated pattern along sleeves and legs as well as on bags, footballs and water bottles.

For the fighters of the indoor arenas as well as the football fields, hummel has created a strong collection full rebellious, resilient and high performance body armour in the shape of sportswear, making sure that players are offered the most optimal apparel whether on or off the pitch.
