Paper chromatography is the simplest

chromatographic technique and the easiest To use for flower pigments. In paper chromatography, the mixture is added to a solvent in a beaker and a piece of paper is suspended so that its lower edge is dipped in the solvent. The pigment and solvent molecules interact with the molecules in the paper and slowly rise up the paper through capillary action.
