I. Primary Purpose of Position
The HRIS Analyst’s primary responsibility is to leverage the HRIS systems so that they meet the needs of the HR Department and the organization. The position supports the operational and strategic business activities across the System by developing, enhancing, and maintain Human Capital Systems. Works in collaboration with Internal Reporting, UMS IT, Universities, Centers of Excellence, and other departments to recommend, develop, and implement cost-effective solutions and best practices. Creates reports and data modeling in response to internal and external needs.
II. Essential Duties
1. Design and deliver HR metric and reporting technology solutions for use in planning, analysis, and forecasting.
2. Create and generate periodic and ad hoc reports in various systems based on user requirements to limit manual report writing.
3. Assist internal and external customers in understanding their data needs and assist with quantifying the results.
4. Managers aspects of the planning, development, testing, implementation, and customer support for PeopleSoft. Provide data and analysis to all levels of decision-makers.
5. Creates dashboards and report templates by using existing HRIS tools or other solutions.
6. Serves as the subject matter expert for HR reporting and data needs required from internal and external sources. This includes responding to informational requests and surveys.
7. Manage the HR functional security access to MaineStreet.
8. Serves as SME on various committees as required.
9. Provides the required support for projects such as Affirmative Action and IPEDS surveys.
10 Prepares and submits federally required surveys on behalf of all Universities such as IPEDS, Government Census, Veterans Reporting.

Develops, reviews, and updates system documentation in the event of changes to the system or new implementation and responsible for the accuracy of the content.

Continually increase both HR knowledge and HRIS application/tools knowledge. Maintains awareness of current trends and how to apply key technologies.

VI. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required:
1. Strong ability to organize and analyze data using basic statistics
2. Working knowledge of computer applications, software systems, statistical software packages.
3. Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Must possess knowledge of system analysis technology and methods of analyzing needs
4. Comprehensive knowledge of national and regional trends and technologies that affect higher education.
5. Ability to develop and maintain a broad understanding of the research and reporting needs of the organization.
Preferred:
1. Knowledge of Query tool for programming.
2. Knowledge of Discoverer reporting tools.
3. Knowledge of SPSS.

2. Minimum of 3 years experience working with technology in a network or web-based environment

1. Experience in higher education setting
2. PeopleSoft knowledge
