Good viscosity build means more adhesive per dollar!
And with high viscosity, you can compound adhesive formulations with additional water to cut costs . . . while maintaining exceptional wet grab, fast tack and good flow characteristics (especially important for high-speed packaging adhe-sives). The minimum viscosity of Gelva Emulsion S-52 (3,000 cps.) is considerably higher than that of other commonly-used adhesive grade polyvinyl acetate emulsions ( 1,000-2,000 cps). Add solvent or plasticizer to S-52 and viscosity soars to higher than 25,000 cps, compared to 3,500 to 5,000 cps for competitive emulsions.

As the above graphs show, the addition of solvent or plasticizer causes Gelva Emulsion S-52 to build in viscosity to a much greater degree than most polyvinyl acetate emulsions.
