How to turn your mistakes into opportunities
“In every negative event is the seed of an equal or
greater benefit.” Napoleon Hill
“Inside of every problem lies an opportunity.”
Robert Kiyosaki
Introduction• Do you ever feel like you have to make
the right decision all the time; if not, are you afraid that other people will not appreciate and or accept you?
• Do you unconsciously make yourself feel bad when you make a mistake because you think you did something terrible, and that you deserve to feel the pain?
• Are you afraid to take risks because there is a chance that you could fail?
A human being trait• As a human being, you have to
understand that you will make mistakes no matter how well you prepare yourself
• Also, you have to understand that mistakes are not negative things, but experiences from a misunderstanding to tell you not to repeat the same things over again
• If you can change and improve from your mistakes, then you should not feel guilty about making them
A human being trait• It is like when a child make the mistake of
touching a hot stove for the very first time• After his mistake, he understood that he
should not touch the hot stove again• As long as he learned from his mistake and
not repeat it over again, then he has nothing to be ashamed of, or feel guilty about
• It is only when the child touches the hot stove again after his mistake, then he should feel guilty
Forgive yourself• It is very important that you forgive
yourself for your mistakes after you have learned from them
• When you keep on punishing yourself, it will be difficult for you to move forward in life
The Advantage• The great advantage of making
mistakes is that it will give you the opportunities to learn and grow, which means your happiness will also grow
• Every time you overcome something, your knowledge, courage, and creativity levels also grow
“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in
the face.” Eleanor Roosevelt
Action Steps1. Write down your mistakes2. Write down what you would do
differently the next time you encounter the same situation
Help clear up your mind• By writing down what you would do the next time,
your brain will be able to see clearly on what to do when the same situation happens again, so you can avoid making the same mistake.
• The brain does not have to waste time coming up with a better solution because you already have it written down.
• You will have more time and energy to fix your problem.
• If not, when the same problem happens again, your brain will be too busy worrying about the problem to come up with a better solution.
