Planning and Collaboration

Cooperating teacher has the curriculum map and scope and sequence.

Student teacher will plan, prepare and teach one unit.

Cooperating teacher shares all ideas that they have, then let the student

teacher take it from there.

Get out of the way!

Student teacher should have the opportunity to teach 2 class periods without you in the

room for at least 3 weeks.Student teacher should take over 3 or 4

classes. Not all of them. You still teach 1st period and tag-team during

2nd period.

Observation opportunities

Student teacher should observe other master teachers in your building near

the end of their student teaching experience when you are integrating yourself back in as the main teacher.

They will know better what to look for after having their teaching experience.
