How to Shampoo and Condition your Hair Properly Shampooing and conditioning your hair is a basic hair care method but we often take it for granted. Of course, a lot of us do it on the daily basis but are we doing it the right way? Sometimes, even if we are using the right hair care products for our hair we still don’t get the effect that we want because we are not doing it the right way. So to help you get the effect that you want for hair without going to the salon for a more expensive treatment, learn the proper way on how to shampoo and condition your hair. When shampooing your hair, make sure that you are using a shampoo that compliments your hair type. If you are still not sure if you have found the one that fits your hair perfectly, at least use a reputed brand like the Nak hair shampoos that has a line of shampoos that will fit different kinds of hair type. 1. Use warm water when showering. Warm water is ideal to use because it’s warm enough to wash the dirt away without drying or irritating your hair. Using water that is too hot can lead to drying and irritation of the scalp. 2. Rinse your hair thoroughly before shampooing to remove the dirt, dust and larger materials that got stuck in your head. When shampooing, gently massage the shampoo onto your scalp. Use the tips of your fingers but not your nails as it can break your scalp. Conditioners are used mainly to help protect your hair from the sun when you go outdoors. It keeps your hair hydrated thus, keeping it from drying and getting frizzy. But other than protecting your hair, conditioners also make your hair shiny and smooth. To condition your hair properly, here are the steps: 1. Use the conditioner right after shampooing. Try your best to evenly distribute the conditioner throughout your hair. 2. Apply the conditioner an inch or so away from the scalp. The top most part of your hair or the “root of the hair” produces the most amount of oil so it doesn’t need much conditioning. 3. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
