First things first

Choose one of these platforms for your own personal use and learn how they work and have fun.

Use it yourself - you do not have to be yourself - create another name - NOT to because you have to.

Watch and observe - don’t worry about tweeting or creating content yet.

You need to know how to use these platforms as they are ways that people can communicate with your business

What stories can you tell about your business? Why did you start the business? Who do you help?

Who are your partners your suppliers that would collaborate with you? What are their stories?

Who on your staff would do an interview? Who are your shining stars? Would they do how to videos?

What are your top tips can you recommend about your products/services?

What are the Unique Selling Points or secrets about your business that you can showcase? Read your reviews, emails that your customers have sent you.

What links have you got with the local community that you can share? (sponsorship, team members, volunteering etc)

What can you do with social media that you can’t do anywhere else? Discount - special offer - something that is not on the menu?

Your phone is your best friend - once per month update your social media strategy on your computer and schedule posts etc then for the rest of the month tweet/respond post updates and read the information on your phone. Go fifteen minutes early to a meeting and catch up on your social media reading then on your phone.

Who knows what a blog is? Who has one on their website? Do you have a wordpress website? Evernote is a great tool for writing notes and collecting your thoughts and ideas.

If you cannot do this get some help. There are lots of free apps out there or get one of your children or neighbours to make a video - you can open a youtube account, take a video on your phone and post straight into your youtube account.

Choose one of these platforms. For B2B Linkedin and Twitter are good platforms and for B2C Twitter and Facebook work well.

Schedule your posts and updates by using a tool like hootsuite.

Questions? Thank you
