Follow the nine easy steps to permanently close a Hotmail

account.

Step 1: Login to Hotmail Account

Step 2: Check upper right corner. You will see your name and your picture.

Step 3: Click on your name or image. This will give you three different options – “Edit Profile” “View Account” & “Sign Out”. You need to click on “View Account”.

It may ask your Hotmail email if you login it from unfamiliar device.

Step 4: Once into Hotmail account setting page, you will see a vertical list of tabs with name “Home” “your info” etc. Click on

“Security & privacy” at last tab.

Step 5: You will get two options – “Account security” & “Online safety”. Click “Account security list & click on “more security

settings”.

Step 6: You will receive a security code on your mobile number / email. Hotmail.com will ask you to verify through this security code. Enter the

code. Scroll down to the bottom on the next security setting page. Here, you will get an option – “Close your account”.

Step 7: The hotmail.com will ask you to make sure your Hotmail email id is ready to close. Simply click on ‘Next‘ button.

Step 8: The site will ask you to mark several check boxes. Here you will be asked to read & understand consequences of deleting the account. Also give reasons you want to delete Hotmail account. Click on ‘next‘

once you have checked all boxes.

Step 9: You will get a notification to inform that you can re-open your Hotmail account within next 60 days. Click ‘done‘.
