Wake County now has access to the eBook collection of Open Library. Here is how to set up an account and check out an eBook.

1) Start at Wake County Public Libraries homepage, www.wakegov.com/libraries. Select link “Download Library”.

2) Select “Other Digital Content” and then “Open Library”.

3) First you will need to create an account. Select “Sign Up”.

4) Fill out the form, and select “Sign Up”.

5) Next, log in to your email account and select the link in the email from Open Library. Once, linked back to Open Library, select “log in to continue”.

6) Enter your password, and select “Log In”.

7) This will bring you back to the homepage. Select “lending library of over 100,000 eBooks” link in the header to browse eBooks.

8) We will check out Starship Troopers.

9) Select “eBook” under Borrow to check out the title.

10)Select “Download ePub” to download to a non-Kindle eReader. (Tip: You will need to download Adobe Digital Editions and created an Adobe ID. If you need help with this process, see our tutorial “How to Download Adobe Digital Editions”)
