WORKSHOP 1

WORKSHOP 3

WORKSHOP 2

WORKSHOP 4

An in-depth workshop with internationally esteemed psychologist, Martin Seligman, exploring his new theory of well-being and what constitutes a fulfilling life. Rather than simply experiencing positive emotions, well-being is defined as consisting of PERMA:P – Positive Emotions – experiencing joy and pleasure.E – Engagement (or flow) – being consciously involved in our activities.R – Relationships – having enjoyable and supportive interactions with others.M – Meaning – creating a purposeful narrative about our lives.A – Accomplishments – completing our goals and following our core values.

In this workshop Dr Seligman will present new findings from the science of well-being and an evidence-based exercise in each category. Applications from individuals to schools to the US Army will be reviewed.

Who do we think we are? How we see ourselves and view our strengths absolutely determines how we see one another, and whether we can generate the compassion and concern our world so urgently needs. Without this, our personal happiness will always be compromised. Each of the world's religions offers sublime teachings on "self" and "other", so what would it take to live in greater inner and outer harmony - and keep one another safe?

This interactive, reflective workshop will allow participants to explore these vital, enriching questions, encouraging a new and more robust understanding of the sacred from the inside out.

The 16 Guidelines are a direct and practical tool for anyone who wants to lead a happier, more meaningful life. They provide a simple, robust framework for reflecting on the ways we think, speak, act and find meaning in life, and for creating the causes of true happiness and fulfillment. Participants will be offered a participatory and experiential introduction to the 16 Guidelines and the four wisdom themes that underlie them.

Facilitated in a contemporary and dynamic style, including extensive use of multimedia, music and interactive exercises, the workshop will provide direct and practical tools for making life better. The 16 Guidelines are versatile and holistic and can be used to promote mindfulness and wisdom in schools, with youth, in healthcare, prisons, the workplace and the home.

Life in workplaces is harder than it needs to be. While part of the challenge is that workplaces are a new habitat for us humans, the other is that we ignore human nature in the way organisations operate. In this workshop we will look at the possibilities if our workplace is aligned to human instincts. We will make sense of how clan connections, hierarchy, gossip, politics, snap judgements, status displays and sexual competition continue to drive modern office interactions just as they have driven human interaction over the millennia.

We will then explore case stories of how organisations that have applied the 9 instincts have transformed their approach to managing change, performance systems, organisation structure, and the power of leaders and followers. You will walk away with an action list to enhance your workplace experience – to make your own worklife and that of others happier and less suppressive.

A unique opportunity to spend in-depth time with pioneering psychologist and researcher into the illusion of control, ageing, decision-making, and mindfulness theory, Ellen Langer. We will delve deeper into the topic of mindfulness from a Western perspective - mindfulness without meditation. It will become clear that living in a mindful way is relatively easy and enormously rewarding. The essence of being mindful is to notice new things. Noticing leads to engagement and engagement leads to fulfillment.

We will explore the consequences of increasing mindfulness for our interpersonal relationships and our satisfaction at work. Further, we will discuss ways of changing our methods of educating people so that future generations will understand the power of uncertainty and thus be able to live more productive and engaging lives.

Research growing out of several different disciplines has converged on a simple fact: social bonds and close relationships are strongly linked to health and well-being. Even though the field of close relationship science is relatively young, scholars have made considerable progress in understanding processes that unfold in social bonds. The lion’s share of this research has focused on processes that undermine close relationships and the links between poor quality social relationships or social isolation and negative outcomes. However, some of the most promising new work has paid closer attention to the positive processes in relationships.

In this workshop Professor Gable will present an overview of work that has focused on processes that promote flourishing, high quality relationships and the direct and indirect roles that these positive interactions play in health and well-being.

Everyone's path to happiness is different. But Action for Happiness’s review of the latest research has identified 10 Keys to Happier Living that consistently tend to make people's lives happier. Together they spell "GREAT DREAM".• The first five (GREAT) relate to how we interact with the outside world in our daily activities: Giving - Relating - Exercising - Appreciating - Trying out• The second five (DREAM) come more from inside us and depend on our attitude to life: Direction - Resilience - Emotion - Acceptance – Meaning

The workshop will explore the 10 Keys with interactive activities and discussion. Participants will be encouraged to identify practical actions that they can take to boost their own happiness and also be a force for positive change at home, at work and in the community.

Want to be organised and clutter free? Overwhelmed and don’t know how to go about it? Buried in a sea of paperwork? Anyone can become organised - it's a skill that can be learned and underpins personal and professional success. Being organised is an investment: it frees you up for the good stuff in life rather than you chasing your tail and feeling out of control. The benefits are far-reaching. In this workshop, learn:• Where to start• How to stop clutter before it arrives• How to successfully tackle any space with limited time• How to master your paperwork quickly and easily • Tips, techniques and creative ideas

Plus much more. Lissanne has thousands of hours of hands-on consulting experience with people from all walks of life and is a qualified trainer. She will entertain and inform you in this interactive workshop. Simplify your work, home and life: efficiently, effectively – and happily!
