What is the Crisis Nursery?
The crisis nursery is a 24-‐‑ hour home that exists to provide a temporary, safe, and
loving environment for children while supporting and
strengthening families experiencing a stressful situation. We help to protect and cherish children when the
adults in their life are dealing with a major
stressor.

Q. How much does it cost? A. Nothing. All CN services are free!
Q. What do I need to bring for my children?
A. The CN is equipped to provide most everything your children need. You only need to bring your children’s prescription medication.
Q. How do I start the process?
A. Call our hotline at ( 507) 766-‐‑6925 any time.
Q. What is the environment like at the CN?
A. The Crisis Nursery is set up as a family home. We do daily enrichment activities, indoor and outdoor play, and nutritious meals.
-‐‑Children must be ages 0-‐‑12
-‐‑Parents/Guardians must complete intake paperwork
-‐‑An emergency contact must remain within 2 hours of the CN
-‐‑For safety reasons there are some children we are unable to accept. Please see the web page for eligibility criteria.
-‐‑Our total capacity is 6 children.

Q. Will my children be well cared for?
A. Yes! All of our staff and volunteers are well trained and have passed rigorous background checks.
Q. What qualifies as a crisis?
A. We don’t define what a crisis is for your family. If you feel that your family is in crisis, please call the hotline.
Q. How long can my children stay at the CN?
A. A child can stay for up to 72 hours at a time, and for a total of 30 days in a year.
