DESCRIPTION
An idea of comparative geometry from past and future yields a new definition of lebanese unity. Each space is formed from this comparison. The spaces are imbued with the deficit of a cultural gap. Each representing simultaneously the presence of a rich and eclectic culture and the 15 years of its absence. Lebanon's violent past caries with it the loss of nearly half a civilization. The individual becomes the ingredient of a culture and through war this culture was interrupted. A house of ART + CULTURE becomes a monument to a struggle for the revitalization of cultural being. House becomes jewelry box inside which the dowry of a civilizations freedom takes shelter. Inside the house spaces serve the shared experience of artistic revolution throughout as a public forum. A duality is formed in memoriam. Remembering the loss of the individual and demonstrating a tremendous strength as a whole, and the experience of a shared movement and cultural renaissance.TRANSCRIPT
